Our Wider Community In Mind
Thanks again to everyone who has brought in blankets and warm clothing over the last few weeks. I already have a truck load of items and am happy to receive more. I will be delivering these items later next week so if you can bring in those hoodies, blankies and trackies before the holidays that would be great. I have also appreciated your support in providing grocery items. It is always interesting how certain needs follow a trend around the variety of welfare agencies we are connected to. At the moment, there is a big call out for toiletries (particularly shampoo, conditioner and roll-on deodorant). I have even been asked if we supply nappies! If anyone knows where we might be able to find these goods I am more than happy to make contact. All of these items can be delivered to my office, to me in the morning at the front gate or in the baskets outside the Chapel.
One of our Year 8 mums, Philippa Baker, has kindly set up the next lot of dates for Term 3 in the SignUp app here for those that are interested in the Monday Food Delivery. If you are not sure what this is or haven’t been involved before, go onto the app and you will find all you need there. If you have any questions, please contact me at anytime. Thanks again to everyone within our community for your continued generosity. I can assure you that every meal is very well appreciated.
The SCEGGS Podcast “Walk The Mile” Episode 66: Leaders Creating Leaders with Ian Narev
One of our hopes as a school is that we would be helping to create the leaders of the future. How that is done and the best way to do that is a complex process which requires lessons in all forms. Ian Narev has been a leader in a number of large organisations and is currently the CEO of SEEK, the leading online employment agency in Australia. He is also a father of three daughters at SCEGGS and a long standing Director of the School Board. In this conversation, we discuss what it takes to be a leader, creating future leaders and how passion and commitment play a big part in leadership. We also talk a little bit about rugby!
And a reminder that we are published on Spotify, Apple, Google Podcast and Deezer, so you can access it easier from your preferred device. I always welcome your feedback or any ideas you may have for further episodes. You will find each podcast as they are produced in this newsletter and on the other platforms as well as our website.
