Debating

Congratulations to the Primary B, Primary A, Year 8 and Year 10 ISDA teams for winning their Quarter Final debates last Friday! This is such a fantastic achievement for each team, and reflects their skill, teamwork, and dedication to the ISDA season. The ISDA Debating Competition consists of 32 schools, so that means each team is in the top four of 32. SCEGGS has the equal highest number of teams through to this stage of the competition – there will be only one other school that is represented in four divisions this Friday.

The SCEGGS ISDA teams will be debating at Ascham, so it would be lovely to have a whole contingent of debaters to support each other. The bus for these debates will leave SCEGGS at 4pm. Please note that for Year 8 and Year 10 the timings of their debates are slightly adjusted: prep for Year 8 will begin at 5.00pm, and the debate will be at 5.45pm, while prep for Year 10 will begin at 6.30pm, and the debate will be at 7.15pm.

Our Archdale teams are also off to a fantastic start this season: this week we won the 7B, 8A, Year 9, Year 10, and Senior (Year 11) debates against Danebank, meaning that the 7Bs, 8As, Year 10s, and Seniors have won 2/2 debates.

Our Round 3 debates will be hosted by Loreto Kirribilli. The bus will leave straight after school. At the end of the senior debates (7.45pm) the bus will return to SCEGGS.

Best of luck to all teams for their upcoming debates!
