The end of Term 3 is always bittersweet for many of us as we celebrate and farewell Year 12. Some of these students have been with us since Kindergarten, others joined us later, and then there are our Boarders who have lit up our campus, 24/7, term after term for many years. Each has left an indelible mark on the members of our Pymble family who have known, guided and supported this beautiful cohort at some stage in their journey from school children to young adults.
On the sweet side, we are excited to see results of their major works start to trickle in ahead of the final HSC examinations, which begin next term.
Congratulations to our entire HSC Drama cohort of Diana, Anais, Esther, Genevieve, Darcey, Doris, Claire, Elizabeth, Madeline and Madeleine, who have all received an OnSTAGE nomination from NESA for their Group Performance. Eight students in the class have also been nominated for their Individual Performance, so great job overall by team Drama.
In HSC Dance, our students collectively have received 17 nominations for CALLBACK, with Alanah and Emily each claiming a triple! Congratulations to all our nominees: Sofia, Sabrina, Keira, Lily, Amelia, Emily, Alanah, Felicity and Alexandra.
And news just in yesterday, our HSC Music 1, 2 and Extension students have received in total seven nominations for ENCORE. Take a bow, Eden, Lily, Ella and Aine.
These nominations are a credit to the hard work and dedication of our students, and their teachers, who spend countless hours devising, creating and refining (and refining and refining again) their incredible projects and performances before submitting them for marking. Well done, to one and all.
At the same time, early offers are coming in from some of the local universities. We also have several students who have secured scholarships and cadetships, and others that are still in the running, which is a great position to be in heading into the final exams. Our teachers look forward to supporting many of our Year 12s at our pre-HSC Study Camp in the holidays where, together, they will build on the deep knowledge and skills demonstrated in their Trial examinations with a final round of practice papers and one-on-one sessions to ensure our girls are as prepared as possible to meet the challenge ahead. Go well, Class of 2025. You’ve got this!
Thank you for being our “village”
As we head into the break, I’m feeling deeply grateful for the respectful partnership between our students, parents and staff at the College. Our girls’ educational experience is enhanced exponentially when we all work together cohesively and with mutual values in mind. We share your pride when your daughters are thriving and achieving their goals, and appreciate that it really does take a village to raise children into adults. We look forward to seeing everyone back here to finish of the year on a high in Term 4.
Speaking of villages, a huge thank you to all the students, families and staff who contributed to the most wonderful Garden Party last weekend. It was such a joy to spend time on the Foundation stand surrounded by the warmth of our community – catching up with friends, listening to performances and enjoying the diverse food on offer. This day really is the ultimate showcase of our community spirit and the values we share.
It is my pleasure to leave you with these snapshots of the day and hopefully, like me, a warm feeling of Pymble Pride.
From the Junior School
A Message from Mrs Kate Brown, Head of Junior School
As we come to the end of term I have reflected with the girls in assemblies about the many ways in which they have shown respect this term. These include an increase in good manners on display with many more ‘good mornings’, ‘please’ and ‘thank yous’, less rubbish on our playground and more initiatives suggested and led by the girls than ever before. Thank you, girls, for being so respectful and kind this term.
Year 3 at Vision Valley
Our Year 3s showed their respect for each other, the environment and themselves as they challenged themselves with their first overnight Outdoor Education program this week. The girls loved connecting with nature through bushwalks, collecting sticks to use whilst toasting damper and creating bush art. They challenged themselves with Donkey Kong, Sugar Glider and the water slide and for many of them this was their first night away from home. I was lucky enough to spend time out there with the girls and I was so impressed by the way they encouraged one another to have a go, to step up into leadership opportunities, try new food and even get some sleep at night! Thank you to their families for setting them up for success with this brave step into overnight Outdoor Education.
Year 3 Strings Ensemble
Yesterday, our amazing Year 3 strings ensemble performed for parents and teachers as part of their graduation. The girls showed courage and a strong sense of team as they played beautifully together and showcased a range of pieces from the toe tapping Under the Jamaican Sun to a lullaby and a lament. Thank you to Ms Lucia Bain and Mrs Narelle Colby for guiding the girls throughout the year and empowering them to be performance professionals and justifiably proud of their progress. Congratulations girls on your stunning performance.
Kindergarten Windows into Learning
Tomorrow, we celebrate Kindergarten with their Windows into Learning and picnic. I look forward to connecting with many families at this special event. I know the girls have been working hard and are excited to showcase their learning.
Relax and Recharge
Next term is a dynamic one with our beloved PJ Factor and many special showcases of both curriculum and co-curricular learning. As it’s a short term with lots of learning to engage with, it’s important our girls have space and time to relax over the holidays to enable them to come back ready to seize the learning opportunities ahead.
Farewell to an OSHC legend
As we come to the end of term, we will soon farewell Jayna Lee who has been an integral part of our OSHC leadership team for many years. With nine years of dedicated service to our community, Jayna will be sorely missed by all of us although we wish her luck and success in her journey ahead as a classroom teacher. Thank you, Jayna, for the kindness, care, creativity and compassion you have brought to so many girls over so many years.
Looking ahead to Term 4
As we come back together in Term 4 and in summer uniform, please may I ask families check how much their daughter has grown over the winter and spring months. It’s important our girls show their respect to the College and wear their uniform with pride…so please check the length of summer dresses!
I wish you all happy holidays and for those who are travelling, safe travels. I look forward to being back together in a few weeks.
A Message from Year 5 student – Visit from Dr Fell from Lunaria One, discussion about plants on the moon!
Today, Dr Fell from Lunaria One visited Year 4 and Year 5 students to talk about the ALEPH project which stands for the Australian Lunar Experiment Promoting Horticulture. Dr Fell and her team of engineers and biologists are going to send a payload of seeds to the moon in 2026! The seeds being sent to the moon are from the resurrection grass plant which is native to Australia.
Dr Fell also spoke to us about an Australian designed rover called the Roo-ver which will go to the moon on a future NASA Artemis mission. This rover was designed, engineered and named in Australia.
I loved todays visit from Dr Fell. It was so inspiring to hear her stories and examples of perseverance to find solutions in STEM. She put great emphasis on believing that there is always an answer to a problem. Listening to her talking about her mission was truly amazing and a gift.
Thank you so much Dr Fell for coming to talk to us. We really appreciated your time and effort. Good luck next year. We can’t wait to hear how the launch goes!

A message from Sustainability Club – Miss Avalon Treharne
Last week in Sustainability Club we focused on Kindness to the Environment (as always) and Kindness to Others.
Our Sustainability Club rolled up their sleeves for a fantastic cleanup of the main oval, helping to get it looking fresh and clean just in time for the Garden Party. After their hard work, the students enjoyed a well-deserved picnic together, celebrating their efforts and the beautiful warm weather.
In addition to their outdoor efforts, the club also took the lead in collecting the generous clothing donations from our school community. These items have now been carefully organised and delivered to Vinnies, where they will provide valuable support to those in need. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all families and staff who contributed, your kindness and generosity truly make a difference! Special thank you to Mrs Thomas regularly gives her time to support Vinnie’s who helped run the clothing collection.

Last day of Term 4
From the Middle School
From the Head of Middle School Jenny O’Donnell
Well, that is a wrap for Term 3! Thank you to all our Middle School parents for your ongoing support across the last 10 weeks. It was great to catch up with some of you at the Garden Party on Saturday. What a successful Basket Stall we ran for Middle School. There were well over 140 baskets of all shapes and sizes that were generously and creatively put together by the girls. From Friday night movie night to beauty pamper packs- all sold with the help of the student and staff volunteers in attendance.
I would like to again acknowledge all the staff involved in making the Year 8 Outdoor Education program such a success. Sarah Budd- our Deputy Head- in particular did an outstanding job with organising groups and logistics across the week. The girls stepped up to their challenge by choice activities, proving their resilience and at times surprising themselves. Below we have invited four students to reflect on their experience.
Camp was a truly memorable experience that combined both challenges and highlights over the five days and four nights. Each evening around the campfire was a highlight for me, as it created such a warm, comfortable, and cheerful atmosphere where everyone could come together and reflect on the day. The meals were also consistently enjoyable, with each dinner, from nachos on the first night to a steak burger on the last, becoming something to look forward to and providing the energy needed for the activities ahead.
There were certainly challenges, but each provided opportunities to learn and grow. Abseiling was confronting, and while I did not complete the full slope, I was proud that I could still go through the practice section. The 10k and 5k hikes were physically tiring, but with the encouragement and positivity of my group, I was able to persevere and finish. Canoeing turned out to be less difficult than I had expected, even though I did have a minor mishap with a tree. Activities such as the raft building, where my group’s raft unfortunately did not hold up, and the obstacle course, where I struggled with the monkey bars, were nonetheless enjoyable because of the teamwork and laughter involved. The wombat hole and river run were challenging in their own ways, but I appreciated having the chance to step outside of my comfort zone, even if I did not fully complete all of them.
Most importantly, I learned the value of teamwork and connection, even in a group where I knew very few people initially. By the end of the camp, the bonds we created made the experience feel supportive and rewarding. While I did not have one single favorite activity, I would say that the evening campfires and the shared meals stood out the most to me, as they combined comfort, community, and the simple joy of being together. – Jiatong Liang
I never thought I’d survive five whole days without my phone, but camp ended up being the highlight of my week. My favourite activity was definitely Base 7, I loved working together as a team and helping earn points through strategy and collaboration.
Out of all the nights I spent in Somerset, the third night was the one I’ll never forget. Stars above and the glow of the campfire below, my group sang hundreds of songs, and shared laughter (especially the Congo line to the other camp group!) – Summer Zhou
On Monday, the 15th of September, Year 8 attended a 5-day trip to Somerset Camp, at Colo River. In my opinion, I love going to camp, so the experience I had at Somerset was unforgettable and enjoyable. The activities I loved to do was wombat hole and mud slide, because though it stinks and obviously very easy to get very dirty, I think it was a good experiment, especially trying things your not comfortable with or want to have a go.
The wombat hole was honestly scary at first because I didn’t really know what was under there but without too much thoughts I decided to give it a go! The overall thought of the wombat hole was pretty fun, like even though it was near pitch black, I thought it was something I would try again if I had a chance.
The mud slide was something I wouldn’t have imagined, though it was never in my program, my base camp was right next to it so my instructor thought it would be a good idea for the people who were interested to have a go. I volunteer with 2 other students. When I looked down at the mud slide, I felt a bit nervous but with my friends cheering, I sat down and nudged myself down, the feeling of being splashed with dirt was quite unpleasant and gross but I didn’t want to waste any time so I went again, and again and again, about 6-7 times. Even my instructor Daniel went down the mud slide!!
Overall my camp experience was truly amazing! – Sydney Zhou
One of our incredible artists Naomi Chan has also shared a sketch she did of her campsite during camp.
We also celebrated the end of Outdoor Education Program with recognising girls who have were outstanding leaders throughout the experience:
Leadership for 2026 will launch in Term 4. Girls who are keen to apply for Leadership roles will be able to submit their applications early Term 4. We encourage all girls to apply.
All the very best for a wonderful term break. I know the girls are certainly ready for a change of pace and a break in routines. Travel safe if you are heading away and enjoy some down time if you are staying at home.

Head of Middle School
From the Upper School
A message from Victoria Harrison, Head of Upper School
Term 3 has been a rewarding and productive period for Upper School. We were delighted to welcome over 30 international exchange students into our community and to host the third Vision Valley Residential Program for the year. The common room has been alive with activity, academic assessments have been completed, and the holiday break is now upon us. Throughout the term, the students have demonstrated commitment and perseverance, achieving commendable successes across both their academic studies and co-curricular endeavours. As the term concludes, I hope the holiday period will provide a valuable opportunity for rest, reflection, and renewal in preparation for the challenges and opportunities of Term 4.
A big thank you to all the girls, families, and the Upper School team for their efforts in making last Saturday’s Garden Party a great success.
Service – Hornsby Women’s Shelter Gala
A huge thank you to our Year 10 students who assisted at the Hornsby Women’s Shelter fundraising event last week. We are grateful that the girls gave up their Friday evening to support such a significant cause and did so with enthusiasm and generosity of spirit. You carried out your responsibilities with confidence, knowledge, and poise, leaving a truly positive impression. It was lovely to receive this feedback from a guest at the evening who commented below.
“I was so impressed by the way the students conducted themselves in a very adult evening quite formal environment. What struck me was their conversation which was relaxed, attentive, respectful and enquiring. Noticeable was each student’s warm style. It was my pleasure to chat with girls who could speak with intelligence about themselves and what they think is important, hold eye contact without distraction or diversion”
Well done to Imogen Kee, Hakone Liceralde, Isabelle Port, Isis Li, Chloe Wang, Milly Xu, Stella Sharp, Irisara O’Brien, Sophia Chen, Peita Christofis, Eve Goldsworthy, Laranya Nanthakumaran, Jacquelyn Zhu and Elisabetta Lollo
International Student Exchange
We are so happy to welcome back Riley, Serena, Skye and Charlotte this week after their month-long exchange in Buenos Aires. It was lovely hosting the St Philip students earlier in the term and to see beautiful friendships form during this time. The Pymble students were warmly welcomed on their return visit and have returned happy and excited to share their experiences.
Thank you to Charlotte for providing this reflection.
I had the amazing opportunity to go to Argentina on exchange alongside three other Pymble girls and two girls from St Catherines. We were in Argentina for a month, and for three weeks we went to school with them, where we were able to see how school compares to Australia. School was very fun and engaging, and it was interesting to experience a different style of learning. During the last week we were there they had spring break, which meant we were able to explore the city more and spend time with some of their friends.
One of the challenges was the language barrier, but it was also a great chance to learn some Spanish. One of my favourite parts was the food, it was all so good! I also loved a weekend we had away in the countryside. The views were stunning, and it was exciting to explore the little town. I even got the opportunity to attend a soccer match. The people there are so passionate, and the atmosphere was incredible.
There are many differences when comparing Argentina and Australia, but it was fascinating to see them in person. They were all so welcoming, and this made the experience even more special. Overall, this was an amazing opportunity, I had a wonderful time away, and I really hope to go back and visit!

From the Head of Senior School – Mrs Nikki Wyse
Farewell to the Class of 2025
As we farewell our cherished Year 12 students of 2025, our College community feels immense pride and gratitude. This cohort has demonstrated a wonderful sense of responsibility, perseverance and wholehearted effort in every area of school life. Whether in classrooms, on the sports field, through creative projects or community service, each student has made a positive impact. Their curiosity, many talents and spirit of friendship will be fondly remembered.
As our graduates begin a new chapter, we pause to honour not only their many achievements but also the shared memories and meaningful connections that have brought us together. The Senior School girls enjoyed the last school Chapel service last week, recognising the special bond these two year groups have formed over the past two years. The Year 11s formed a celebratory Guard of Honour to farewell their big sisters and thank them for their guidance and support.
On behalf of the Senior School team, our sincere thanks go to the parents, carers and families who have supported these remarkable students, and to the graduates themselves for their humour, enthusiasm and everyday acts of kindness. Their warmth and commitment have enriched our College, and their legacy of generosity and courage will continue to inspire us all.
I would also like to honour the work of the two Heads of Year, Mrs Karina Richter and Mr Adam Levin, who have guided and supported these girls over so many years.
We look forward to a wonderful day of celebration on Friday, with our wonderful graduates and their families.
Back to the Beginning: A Joyful Assembly
Last Friday, students who began at the College in the early years led a joyful assembly for our youngest learners. This special occasion was filled with shared stories, songs and games, as well as memories from the earliest days of school. It was wonderful to see Year 12 students reconnect with their first teachers and to witness the bonds created across year groups. We took the opportunity to recognise students who model our core values and to celebrate birthdays, reminding everyone of the strong sense of community that extends throughout our College.
Garden Party thanks
Thank you to all Year 11 and 12 students and their committed teachers for the enthusiasm and dedication shown in making the recent Garden Party a success. Running the raffle tickets, the Chocolate Wheel and also working on many other stalls and presentations on the day, the girls displayed a spirit of teamwork and care that brings our College family together.
Congratulations to our Raffle winners:

From the Boarding School
It’s been a wonderful week filled with celebration and connection, beginning with our Boarder Parent Group meeting on Friday. Our Head Boarders, Sophie and Celeste, provided an excellent round up of their year and it was great to hear the exciting plans for the new year from our 2025–26 leaders. We were also pleased to be joined by our College Principal, Dr Hadwen; Deputy Principal, Academics, Mrs Christine Kenny; and Mr Jake Turnbull, leader of the Drone Academy, each providing a comprehensive report and sharing their expertise generously. As a special bonus, Mr. Greg Hastie, Project Director, led a tour of the Grey House Precinct, much to the delight of our Boarder parents. You can read the minutes of the meeting here.
A Fabulous Follow on with FABBA
Our annual sojourn to Warrawee did not disappoint with our Boarders embracing all the fun of a live band. There was lots of singing and dancing once again, this time with FABBA which brought back happy memories for all. Many of our Boarder parents enjoyed dinner at Wahroonga before joining us at the event and they too made the most of the opportunity to ‘bust a move’ with their daughters.
Garden Party
Garden Party is truly my favourite day on the College calendar, and the Boarders’ Produce Stall is always a highlight. This year’s stall was brimming with a delicious array of offerings—from freshly harvested beetroot and Griffith’s finest pasta to Bourke’s specialty, Splashe Cola, and wonderful home-baked treats from all over New South Wales. Our signature gourmet pork rolls were another crowd-pleaser, perfectly complemented by an ice cold cider from the fantastic Hillbilly Cider Bar. It was a gourmet showcase in every sense.
None of this would have been possible without the amazing Edwina Beveridge who co-ordinated the Boarders’ stall. Edwina worked tirelessly with her committee of Sarah Curry, Tessa McLaughlin, Kate Greenwood, Loretta Brown and Tara Taubenschlag to ensure the day was a huge hit. Thank you to all of you who contributed in so many special ways. It was a fabulous effort and even better to know that all profits will go to the Boarder Parent Scholarship Fund.
Celebrating with our families
Tonight we celebrate our Year 12 Boarders with their parents and it promises to be a fabulous night of reminiscing and acknowledging the wonderful contributions of these special young women. We will begin with our Inaugural Year 12 Farewell Chapel service to which all Boarders and families are invited. This is followed by a celebratory meal together with speeches and dancing. I look forward to sharing photos and details, along with news of our Brooksie recipient in our next edition of Keeping Up With Our Boarders.
Eat like a Boarder
We would love you to join us for dinner on Monday 13 October at 6.00pm, when you return your girls from the term break. Over the past few weeks, we have joined with the Global Church in the celebration of the Seasons of Creation.
We have been so delighted with the contributions that you have made to this important topic through each of the Chapel Services.
Thank you for your attention and for your contributions in many so many ways, including those of you who were brave enough to be filmed as part of the first reflection.
Most importantly we want to say thank you for contributions to the gradual growth of our Tree of Wisdom that is currently taking pride of place in the Chapel Sanctuary. It is made from thousands of pieces of recycled paper that would have otherwise gone into landfill that takes its inspiration from the symbol above. You will remember that in week 7 we created the branches and roots, week 8 the soil and grass and last week the sky.
Now that it is almost done, this tree represents our collective prayer through the commitments, hopes and dreams of our school to the environment. Between you all you have made no less than 5000 commitments to the environment. If you haven’t had a closer look please come into the chapel when you have a moment.
Rev. Cass and I have been blown away by the maturity, knowledge, care and concern that has been expressed through each contribution, some of which you will find below.
As we head off for the holidays, I want to encourage you to continue to hope, dream and take real action to care for the environment.
It is through each of our small contributions that together we will change the world in a way that brings hope, care and protection for the animals, plants and eco-systems that ensure our future, and the future of the most vulnerable of all things- our planet.
This is how we can be part of God’s love in caring for creation.
“God so loved the world (not just humanity) that he gave his only Son.’ John 3.16
Here are just some of the incredible commitments and hopes that you have included on the tree:
I will recycle my paper
My commitment is to take litter off the animals when I see them with it
Use public transport instead of cars
Plant trees
Shorter showers
Not keep the taps on for unnecessary amounts of time when not using it
Grey water systems
Turn lights off
Reduce my use of single use items
Open the curtains instead of using lights
I will put my rubbish in the bin
Don’t let food get wasted
I will use mor re-usable plastic containers and use dimmer lights in the bathroom to save electricity
Participate in the clothes swap
Don’t buy or use balloons
Use less paper
Spread knowledge about nature
Use rainwater
Re-wear outfits
I hope for a healthier environment where animals are safe and free
That there is no more rubbish/pollution in the oceans
Dear God, could you please heal warfare across the world for a united peace
I hope for less endangered animals
Use less ChatGPT
I hope that there are green spaces for people to enjoy like national parks
I hope that we achieve our sustainability goals by 2050
I hope that we prevent bush fires
I hope that landfill will decrease filling so rapidly
Dear God, could you heal earth and make the world a better place for everyone and everything

What a Class! Jacob Yarr Masterclass
On Wednesday evening, our Hip Hop and Company students had the incredible opportunity to take part in a masterclass with guest teacher Jacob Yarr. It was an absolute joy to watch Jacob share his expertise and connect so effortlessly with our dancers. At one point, he told the students, “I am here for you. You are not here for me,” a simple but powerful statement that immediately broke the ice and eased any nerves.
Throughout the class, Jacob praised the students for their focus, talent, and willingness to push themselves. Mrs. Pettigrew and Miss Cluff were so impressed by Jacob’s dynamic teaching and the exceptional standard of our students. A special thank you to Miss Melissa Tay, whose dedication and training of the crew was clearly reflected in the way the girls approached the class and the skills they showcased.
Australian Dance Festival
On Friday 19 September, members of our Contemporary White group participated in the Australian Dance Festival at Sydney Olympic Park as part of the Resonate workshops and showcase. Resonate is a special section open only to primary and high school students, providing them with the opportunity to learn from leading choreographers and perform alongside other talented young dancers.
Our students represented PymbleLadies’ College with pride and professionalism, embracing both the learning experience and the performance opportunity. The workshops were inspiring, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed connecting with industry professionals and developing their artistry. The highlight of the day was performing in the Resonate showcase, where they shone on stage and demonstrated their commitment to excellence in dance.
It was a truly rewarding experience, and we congratulate the Contemporary White dancers for their dedication and achievements.

Tremendous Troupes at Garden Party
What an absolute joy it was to have the sun shining during our Pymble Dance Troupes performance at the Garden Party on Saturday. All six of our Troupe groups performed at the front of the Chapel steps, kicking off the day with what was a delightful celebration of community. Students from Years 3 to 12 showcased their Eisteddfod routines which had been performed at Platinum Dance Competition and Sydney Eisteddfod earlier in the year. We are extremely proud of these Pymble dancers who adapted their routine for this performance, showcasing collaboration, dynamics and professionalism. We are Pymble proud of each of these Troupe performers!
The 2026 Senior Play will be The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Current Pymble students in Years 9, 10 and 11 are invited to audition. Production details and audition information can be accessed by students here using their Pymble email address.
The Crucible is a drama based on the historical events of the Salem witch trials of 1692. It tells the story of a community overcome by fear, suspicion, and false accusations, showing how quickly truth can be lost when panic takes hold. Please note, The Crucible explores mature themes, including betrayal, death, and community distress. The subject matter asks performers to engage with strong emotions and serious situations.
Drama Support Group – Expressions of Interest for 2026 We are excited to be forming a Drama Support Group for 2026 and warmly invite parents to express their interest in being involved. Finals Week
What an exhilarating two days of hockey it was over the weekend! On Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September, our Pymble teams took to the field for the semi-finals and grand finals, displaying exceptional determination, skill, and sportsmanship capping off what can only be described as a truly memorable season.
Friday evening saw Pymble 1 face a tough challenge against Ascham in the semi-final. The match was fiercely contested, with both teams fighting for a place in the grand final. The first half was tight, but it was in the second half where Pymble 1 really showed their grit and resilience. With unwavering focus and teamwork, the girls surged ahead, securing a hard-fought victory and booking their place in the championship match.
Pymble 3 faced PLC Armidale in what turned out to be another absorbing semi-final. The girls played with immense commitment and heart, holding strong throughout the contest. Despite a valiant effort and battling until the very end, they were unfortunate to just miss out. Nonetheless, the entire team should be incredibly proud of their spirit and the pride they brought to their squad.
Saturday was a celebration of all that is great about Pymble hockey, with both Pymble 1 and Pymble 2 taking to the turf for the grand finals.
In a nail-biting match against MLC 1, Pymble 2 displayed tremendous tenacity. With neither side able to break the deadlock in regular time, the game went into extra time, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. It was Pymble who found the breakthrough, scoring a fantastic goal to clinch a well-deserved 1 to 0 victory and crown themselves grand final champions!
For Pymble 1, the grand final was much more than just a match it was redemption. After a heartbreaking semi-final defeat to NEGS last year, the girls returned to the pitch determined to seize their moment. With courage, composure and outstandinghockey, they produced a stellar performance, winning the S01 trophy with an impressive 2 to 0 result. A fairy tale ending for a remarkable group.
To our wonderful Year 12s, congratulations on a magnificent term of hockey and thank you for your ongoing commitment, leadership, and passion. You have been exemplary both on and off the pitch and will be missed deeply by your teammates and coaches alike.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for your steadfast support and enthusiasm throughout the season. To our fantastic coaches, your dedication and willingness to go above and beyond made all the difference.
As we reflect on this wonderful season, we are already looking forward to what 2026 will bring. Here’s to even more memorable moments and continued success for Pymble Hockey!

From Year 9 and 10 Contemporary Music Class
The Year 9 and 10 (100-hour) Music classes attended a performance of Cats the Musical. It was a remarkable experience, and we felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to see it. We departed school at recess and travelled by train to the Theatre Royal. After enjoying lunch in the city, we spoke with a clarinet player from the orchestra, who kindly answered some of our questions and gave us insight into what it is like to perform in a professional production.
Once we were seated in the balcony, which gave us an excellent view of the stage, the performance began in an unexpected way, with actors dressed as cats making their way down the aisles, even up to where we were sitting. The choreography and ensemble work were outstanding; the precision and chemistry among the performers made it impossible to look away.
Although Cats does not follow a traditional plot structure, the production was still thoroughly engaging. From the immersive opening to the final number, every aspect of the performance showcased incredible talent and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
Thank you so much to Ms. Zeltzer, Ms. Aquaro, and the Music Staff for organising this amazing experience for us.
Srishti Kumar (Year 10) and Heidi Ferreira (Year 9)

Netball
Megan O’Keeffe, Head Coach of Netball
Finals Week
What a huge term of netball we’ve had at Pymble! Across seven rounds of competition, our teams went all out, finishing with energetic semis and some unforgettable finals.
This season, we were a force to be reckoned with, entering a record 31 teams since COVID and seeing 322 students hit the courts every week. Our passion for netball has never been stronger, and it showed in both our numbers and our results. Participation is up from 280 last year, a clear sign of the depth of talent and enthusiasm found right throughout our college.
We saw massive improvements all round, not just in how many of you got involved, but also in our performance. Last year, we had 16 teams make the semi-finals, whereas this year, 21 teams advanced. When it came to the finals, we raised the bar again with 13 teams making it through, compared to eight last year. That’s an outstanding effort by everyone involved.
A big congrats to our grand final winners—Pymble 9, Pymble 15, Pymble 21, Pymble 22, Pymble 28 and Pymble 30! Your teamwork and determination are inspirational. Special mention to Pymble 7, who played a cracking match in the final even though they were down on players for several reasons, just going down by four goals in a gutsy effort.
Pymble 14 (our Junior Firsts) had an absolute nail-biter against Brigidine, with the game coming down to the very last second in extra time, unfortunately going down by just one goal. The determination, composure and teamwork on display were next level, and it’s super exciting to see such talent coming through. The depth of skill across our teams was further proven with Pymble 22 (Junior Seconds) taking out a win in their division, yet another example of just how strong netball is in our Juniors here at Pymble.
This term wasn’t just about results on the court either. There have been big improvements in attendance at both games and training, as well as communication about these commitments. We also had far fewer late withdrawals than in previous years, which makes an enormous difference to everyone’s experience.
To all our Year 12 students—thank you. Whether you were part of a social team or leading on a senior comp side, you’ve been role models and key to what makes this netball program so special. We appreciate all your hard work and leadership and wish you every success in the next step of your journeys.
A special shoutout to our incredible student umpires: Sophia Kok (Year 10), Devishi Malla (Year 9), Charlotte Thistlewood (Year 10), Megan Chen (Year 12), Lyra Hambly (Year 9), Lily Bartz (Year 9), Peyton Ashton (Year 8) and Chloe Leanne (Year 8). Without you, we genuinely wouldn’t be able to host the matches here at Pymble. Thank you for your professionalism and commitment, and we can’t wait to see you all continue developing in the Netball NSW umpiring pathway.
Thank you everyone for making 2025 such an amazing year for netball at Pymble. I’m already excited to see what we can achieve together in 2026—let’s make it even bigger and better!

Waratah Shield
Congratulations to our Pymble team, who competed at the Waratah Shield at Easts Rugby Club last Friday. The Waratah W Shield is a 10-a-side rugby competition designed to increase opportunities for schoolgirls to experience all facets of our great game.
Our girls competed against Hills Sports High School, Matraville Sports High School and Arndell Anglican College. After losing the first match to Hills, the girls were able to regroup and win their next two matches to progress to the finals, where they again went to battle against a very strong Hills outfit. Although a closer affair compared to Round 1, unfortunately, we went down in this match. A huge shout-out to Mie Naito (Year 10), who was named player of the match in this grand final.
A great way to round out the season girls! Great job.

NSW All Schools Years 7/8 Touch Football State Finals
Congratulations to our outstanding students who represented Pymble in the Years 7/8 NSW All Schools State Finals. It was a day of thrilling competition, exceptional teamwork, and a true showcase of the Pymble spirit.
Our team delivered tremendous performances right from the outset. In their first match of the day, they faced St Mary’s School and, with some scintillating play, secured a well-deserved 3 to 1 victory. Buoyed by this fantastic start, the girls went on to defeat Terrigal High School 3 to 0 in the second match, demonstrating great skill and determination.
The competition only intensified as the day went on. Against Mount Saint Benedict’s, the team fought hard to earn a 3 to 3 draw, followed by a tightly contested 2 to 2 draw against Westfield Sports High. These results saw the Pymble team finish second in their pool – an exciting achievement in itself!
Moving into the quarter-final, the girls displayed resolute focus and teamwork, overcoming Xavier Catholic College with an impressive 2 to 0 win. This triumph earned them their place in the semi-final, where they faced a highly competitive Hunter Sports High side. Despite a valiant effort and some excellent play, the team went down 5 to 2 in what was an exceptionally high standard of touch football.
This marks a historic moment for Pymble, as it is the first time a Pymble team has reached a semi-final at the NSW All Schools State Finals. What an extraordinary achievement for this group of talented and determined girls!

Pymble Transport
Register now – Pymble Bus Service
A reminder to register your daughter for the Pymble bus service if you have not already done so. Registrations are essential, as we cannot guarantee a seat without a booking.
You can choose between a flexible registration, whereby you are only charged for the number of trips taken, or you can reserve a seat for your daughter for the full term.
Grey House Walk Closure – Alternative travel options
Grey House Walk remains closed during Term 3 and Term 4 to allow for the timely completion of Grey House Precinct. The College has introduced the following initiatives to support students who usually walk to school from Pymble Avenue via Grey House Walk.
Minibus Shuttle Service (Pymble Loop)
This shuttle travels down Livingstone Avenue and up Pymble Avenue via Courallie Avenue and Golfers Parade. This is a convenient way for parents to bypass traffic near the College on Pymble Avenue and Avon Road.
This supervised walking group is available for our Junior School students. It runs in the morning only, meeting from 7.30am at the entrance of Grey House Walk on Pymble Avenue, departing together at 7.45am. Register to join the walking group here.
Additional stops on our Hunters Hill Route (Bus 1)
The shuttle service is being supplemented by additional Pymble stops on our Hunters Hill route. These stops are free of charge during the closure of Grey House Walk. As seats are limited, bookings are essential to utilise this service and can be made here.
For further information on travelling to and from Pymble Ladies’ College, please contact College Services on (02) 9855 7447 or collegeservices@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au.
From the PPA
With blue skies and sunshine our school community came together to enjoy our annual Garden Party. Thank you for all your support of the PPA Second Hand Uniform Stall and the PPA BBQ Stall. We are delighted to announce that your generous donations to the Uniform Stall meant that a record amount of funds was raised by this stall. The PPA uses these funds towards Staff Professional Development, a Teachers’ Appreciation Lunch and facilities for your daughters. This year the PPA is planning on installing filtered water filling stations and a shade umbrella near Archie’s Café.
The PPA BBQ Stall is always such a fun and high energy stall and this year was no exception! A huge thanks to all our Pymble dads who worked the barbecues and also the wonderful staff members who volunteered alongside our parents and this year we had some of our students helping out as well.
Thank you to all our amazing parents who donated to various stalls, convened stalls and volunteered at Garden Party. There were parents who spent the entire day volunteering, splitting their time between several different stalls!
The enthusiasm and warmth of our volunteers in welcoming new families, catching up with friends and welcoming visitors to our school created a great atmosphere throughout the day.
We look forward to seeing all our volunteers at the Thank You Cocktail Party on 23 October at 7pm on gloucester Lawn.
