Swim Race League
On Wednesday 23 August Pymble Ladies’ College held a swim race league against Barker College.
A Race League is a head-to-head competition with no timing, just good old-fashioned hand on the wall placings. Each team was awarded points for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placings. The schools were divided into 2 teams, Pymble Scarlet and Navy, Barker Blue and Red. Pymble had 25 girls competing from Year 3 to 6. The cheering was loud and there was some fast swimming. Pymble Navy won the overall point score.
Well done to all girls that competed in our race league.

Swimming Parent Picnic and Dual Meet at Narrabeen
On Sunday 27 August our Junior Pymble Swim Team took part in our first Swimmer Parent Team bonding picnic at Narrabeen Lake. This was followed by a Dual Meet with Narrabeen Swim Club held at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation Centre in Narrabeen. The picnic was a huge success with over 30 families attending!
We started the day with some good old-fashioned picnic games where swimmers, parents, and siblings were all involved and had the chance to challenge themself and have a great time together. The picnic games we played were, 3 legged races, egg and spoon races, potato sack races, egg throwing competition and many more. After such a successful day we had some great feedback from our Parents such as:
Parent 1: “My child and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the AMAZINGLY fun day today! From the picnic location to the fun family games, and then onto the swimming- you both planned every single detail, and it was brilliant!!”
Parent 2: “You went above and beyond your role as coaches, including enthusiastic demonstrations of the games. The families enjoyed the chance to socialize outside of the pool as a team. Pymble Swimming is lucky to have you.
Parent 3:” My family and I had an amazing time, and my daughter is still talking about the games we played together. What a great way to create some special memories. We are looking forward to the next Parents and Swimmers picnic”.
The fun then moved to the pool our first Dual Meet Pymble V Narrabeen. A point score system was in place to determinate the winning Team.
The meet was very exciting, full of races and a lot of fun. The Pymble Team swam every race with their heart, and we left the pool with the “2023 Pymble V Narrabeen Trophy”
Special mention to our Pymble girls: Imogen Jones (Year 7), Oriana Fenton (Year 6), Penelope Hargraves (Year 6), Carla Eibach (Year 6), Chloe Shires (Year 6), Charlotte Sadler (Year 6), Amelie Berg (Year 4), Sarah Kranes (Year 6) and Jiayi Wu (Year 5)
A big thank you goes to our Pymble coaches Michelle and Sara for organising, planning, and running the day, and goes to all the parents and swimmers who attended the Picnic for the amazing day we all had.
