Music
Congratulations
Isabel Dean (2022 Graduate) performed at Encore on Monday 27 February, which was held at the Opera House. Mr Stafford, Mrs Colbey, Ms Zelzter, Mr Schweinberger and I travelled with girls from Year 11 and 12 to witness this spectacular achievement. Encore nominations are given to students who achieve the highest mark for their performances and/or compositions. Isabel was selected from many nominations and demonstrated her superior skills. We were all Pymble Proud.
Performance Jackets
Please return any performance jackets that are no longer required. We are running low. They can be returned to the Music Admin office.
All new girls must have a performance jacket – these will be worn at the upcoming Ensemble Concert, over the Pymble Music T-Shirt with black pants. Please make sure you have the correct attire for the concert. New students can visit Gladys in the Music Office to be fitted for a jacket. All students will receive an email with their jacket is ready for collection.
Music Support Group Meeting
This is a group of volunteer parents who offer to assist the Music team with fund raising, food service, dedication to the Music students, and general help when we need it. If you would like to be part of this wonderful team, please come along to our first meeting for 2023:
Tuesday 7 March at 7.00pm in the Music Gallery. If you would like to be part of the team, but unable to make it, you can email Elizabeth Toh at Elizabethtoh@gmail.com
We look forward to having you on board and helping our music students sail through life having music in their souls.
Thank you! – Stage Band
Mr Stafford and the girls from the College Stage Band performed at the Icebreaker event on Friday night. These students continually amaze us with their ability to lighten the room/venue with classic jazz numbers. Thank you all for giving up your Friday evening.
Over the last weekend, our fabulous Music staff were part of the Junior School Music Camp. Girls from Year 3 strings, Year 4 Band, Stanhope Band and Grainger Band came together to work on repertoire over the course of either 1 or 2 days, depending on their ensemble.
It is an enormous commitment from our girls and their families to be part of this, but I am forever humbled by the dedication of our staff. Mr Schweinberger put together a fabulous program of music making, swimming with obstacle courses, and eating activities. Thanks to Mr Schweinberger, Mr Stafford, Mrs Colbey, Ms Ashton, Ms Zeltzer and Mr Rossman, along with all our fabulous tutors who helped tutor our girls to produce some fine music. Thanks to Mrs Brown and Mr Griffiths for their support and encouragement of the Music program in the Junior School.
