Concerto Competition
What a fabulous evening of amazing talent we witnessed on Thursday Feb 15. After 10 performances from 10 very fine young musicians, I felt my cup was overflowing with joy. Adjudicating these women was an unenviable task, and we were very grateful to have Allie Osborne (Associate Concert Master of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and Kimbali Harding (CEO of Australian Youth Orchestra) do this for us.
Aine Oo, clarinettist in Year 11 took out the coveted award and will perform with the College Symphony Orchestra in term 2 at the Secondary School Ensemble Concert.
Congratulations to Catherine Li (Year 9)
Catherine recently competed in the International Piano Competition and was place in the top 6 of the (Kharkiv meets Zurich). She was then invited to play with a Ukranian Orchestra. From here, Catherine tells me “I assume that I got 4th because the Adjudicators read my name first in the series of finals diplomas which usually is 4th place.”
