Public Speaking – Wonderful Holiday News
Jenny Xu placed first in the UN Voice of Youth nationals! Amy Zhang also competed at the nationals. Well done and congratulations girls.
Congratulations to Leahara Wijesuriya and Jenny Xu who have progressed to Rostrum Regionals. They will compete at Abbotsleigh on Wednesday 17 May.
Debating
This term we will welcome some new Debating coaches. Kayleigh Li will also be teaching a Wednesday Public Speaking class. She has been a World Individual and Public Speaking Champion. Welcome Kayleigh.
Thank you to Sarah Boyd who came across from Drama to assist in FED supervision. Sadly, we lost some coaches last term as they moved universities and took up places overseas or interstate.
FED and ISDA Make-up debates
These will all be held this Friday, 28 April. Here is the make-up schedule. If a team is not listed, they are not required this Friday.
FED Sen A (Round 1 Make Up) at Newington. 5.00pm debate.
FED Sen B (Round 3 Make up) v Redlands at Pymble. Online 7.00pm prep, 7.45pm debate.
All ISDA make up debates listed below will be in KM, online, on Friday 28 April. Please bring charged laptops.

ISDA and FED Finals teams to be announced after make ups rounds. FED finals commence on 12 May, ISDA commence next Friday 5 May. Teams will need to make their own way to Finals debates. Carpooling is suggested. Finals will be at various locations.
Archdale
The Archdale Debating comp starts on May 16 with R1 and 8 teams. Please let me know if you would like to coach and your preferred team. This comp runs on Tuesday afternoons and evenings. Please ensure your daughter is registered.
Social Debating
This competition will start on Friday 5 May. Please ensure registrations are completed. This competition will run on a Friday at Pymble from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. Please meet in C10.
House Debating
A new House Debating comp started last term. Thanks to Isabella Cameron, our Language Arts prefect for resurrecting this initiative. Finals are to be held early in Term 2. Cups will be presented.
Sydney University Debating Day
Friday 2 June – Senior debaters are invited to attend this event. Please contact Mrs Hubbard.
Mock Law
Our Mock Law coaches and teams had a successful start to their season last term. All the best to our Mock lawyers for Term 2 rounds.
MUN Model United Nations
Our PMUN student leaders are doing a wonderful job!
Evatt
We currently have six teams interested in Evatt next term. The tentative date is 22 May at PLC. Girls in Years 9 to 12 enter this competition in pairs.
Discover MUN day will be held at UNSW on Thursday 25 May. This is only for Senior students.
