FED
FED travelled to Riverview last week for Round 7. This marked the end of the Preliminary sessions. Co-curricular Administration will send details for make up rounds on 28 April.

House Debating
House debating finals and cup presentations have been carried into Term 2. Stay tuned.
Debating Opportunity – Juniors and Seniors
It is hoped that all who registered for the online training day found it a valuable experience.
Seniors in Year 10 to 12. Please contact Mrs Hubbard if interested in the Senior Sydney University Debating Day, to be held on 2 June. Please ensure there are no assessment clashes prior to registering interest. We can take three teams of four.
Social Debating
Registrations are currently open for Social debating through the Co-curricular Administration registration system. Please register as soon as possible.
Archdale
Archdale debating commences next term. Round 1 will be held on May 16. Further details available next term.
Public Speaking
Congratulations to Leahara Wijesuriya and Jenny Xu who have progressed to Rostrum Regionals. They will compete at Abbotsleigh on Wednesday 2 May.
UN Voice Nationals
Congratulations to Jenny Xu and Aimy Zhang who will compete in UN Voice National Finals on 15 April. Best wishes girls!
Classes
This week our Senior Wednesday Public Speaking class will not run due to term ending earlier. Both Junior classes will run. Apologies for last week’s cancellations. We had two teachers away at short notice.
Mock Mediation
Round 1 was held last week. Our team performed strongly. Special thanks to coach Emma Parsons.

Our team won against Queenwood last week. Well done Annika and team.

UNSW Discover MUN, 25 May
UNSW Discover MUN day for ten students in Year 10 to 12. First in basis. Please register interest with Mrs Hubbard.
Harvard MUN in Sydney! (For students in Year 8 to 12)
Before COVID, Pymble offered a biennial visit to Harvard MUN in Boston, USA. Now, Harvard MUN is running a MUN conference at UTS, Sydney from 1 to 4 June. Here is a message from Mitch Fifield, Australia’s Ambassador to the UN, encouraging students to take part in this prestigious competition. Please email Mrs Hubbard before the end of the term if you are interested. NB this four-day conference, including food, will cost approximately $450 to $500. Girls are encouraged to register through school. A Pymble Language Arts coach will be present at all times.
Evatt
Evatt is opening for registrations soon. Students compete in pairs to represent a Country. Please email Mrs Hubbard to express your interest in this MUN competition. Pairs preferred, but individuals will also be accepted, and an attempt will be made to pair you with another individual.
Zonta
Warm Congratulations to Abigail Barfield who was chosen by the Zonta Club of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai to be awarded the Zonta plaque and who will now progress in the Zonta YWPA (Young Women in Public Affairs) Scholarship program for 2023. Her application will be considered for a USD5000 scholarship. We expect to hear more on this by the end of April. Abigail was described as a, “stand out young woman.”
Congratulations also to Hanna Cheung, Loren Korenblyum and Shivani Senthil who will be presented with Club prizes. Zonta officials noted that the standard of applications was high.
