Events Wrap Up

And just like that, Term 1 is over – and what a busy term it was! This past week we have had meet-and-greets for incoming students, Easter cookie decorating for Kindergarten to Year 2 and the Careers Expo for Year 10 to Year 12. It was great to see some of our Year 9 students volunteer to help at the expo. And on that note, we’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all volunteers for being so giving of your time to in helping with the many events during Term 1.

We are also grateful for the support of our Alumni who attended the Careers Expo and shared their professional journey with Year 12 students. They will be featured in some videos early next term, but you can see a sneak peek in this preview.

Afghan Cultural Festival and Football Match

The Afghan Cultural Festival and Football Match is first up on the calendar as we welcome schoolgirls of recently arrived Afghan refugee families into our local community with a festival of fun, learning, friendship and cultural immersion.

All funds raised will be donated to Her Village Foundation supporting refugee families and to charities providing relief to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. You can buy tickets to the match here, with tickets to the dinner forthcoming.

Alumni Networking Event

Pymble is delighted to present the annual networking event for Alumni for both recent graduates and experienced industry professionals. The event will be held at KPMG in Barangaroo Tower on Saturday 18 May.

The evening will feature a panel with four ex Pymble students and an address by Dr Kate Hadwen. Alumni members will have the opportunity to meet with a professional network of community members who will help guide them on their path to success in their career post-Pymble.

Food Technology Cookbook and Pymble Gives Back

As part of the College’s Pymble Gives Back initiative, the 2023 Food Technology captains are creating a cookbook from the recipes of the Pymble community, with all proceeds donated to Dignity.

Dignity is one of the three chosen Pymble Gives Back not-for-profit charities for 2023. The organisation empowers Australians experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness by providing a range of innovative services. These include providing emergency guest home accomodation, home cooked meals, new clothing and support workers. Dignity’s aim is to end homelessness through prevention and changing attitudes within society about those experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

To support this chosen charity we are asking students from Kindergarten to Year 12, parents and staff to contribute a recipe that has meaning to their family. In submitting the recipe, please provide a short explanation about what makes it so special. Feel free to also upload a photo of the recipe you wish to submit.

Details about purchasing the cookbook will be released once it is complete. If you would like to contribute to this initiative, please complete this short survey and upload your treasured family recipe here.
