THE POWER OF SPORT – Pymble and Milingimbi Athletics Coaches unite.

The College’s partnership with Milingimbi School in NE Arnhem Land, facilitated by the Yadha Muru Foundation, is creating a profound and lasting impact on students from both communities. Through this unique partnership, the two schools are working together to decrease the disparity between urban and remote education while fostering two-way learning, intercultural understanding, mutual respect, and genuine connection.

Last week on Main Oval, athletes and coaches from Milingimbi and coaches from Pymble Athletics joined together in a sprints speed session that highlighted the power of sport to transform lives.

Since mid-2023, Pymble has nurtured this city-country partnership – with sport playing an integral role to empower.

Sprint sensation Kristie Edwards (Pymble 2017) led the speed session alongside fellow Pymble Coach, Australian representative, Zane Branco and Milingimbi Coach Jeremy Guruwiwi.

This session extended far beyond the joy of movement – it opened possibilities, challenged thinking and grew self-belief, purpose and connection.

Thanks to her Pymble experience, Kristie – an Australian representative at World Championships and the Paris Olympic Games - is optimising her potential and realising her dreams.

And, last week, Kristie lit a spark and knocked down a hurdle for the athletes and coaches of Milingimbi to live their dreams in sport.  Please take a minute to enjoy a short video and the coaches’ thoughts and feedback.
