Believe it or not, that’s a wrap for 2025. Oh, what a year!
It kicked off to the exhilarating tunes of The Greatest Showman soundtrack echoing across the campus on day one, setting the tone for seizing new opportunities and striving for our own goals and growth while supporting each other to thrive – with the greatest Respect, of course.
Girls, you have certainly Come Alive with Respect in 2025. You have turned “I can’t” into “I can!” through your Outdoor Education programs. You’ve toured Australia and the world to immerse yourself in different cultures, communities and languages – at last count, we delivered nine international tours and 28 domestic trips, to more than 500 of you involved, this year alone.
You’ve kept your eyes wide open to future careers, and your hearts full by being of service to others – often initiating these acts of kindness yourselves. You’ve leaned into each other as Buddies, Big Sisters and Little Sisters, mentors, study partners, cheer squads and BFFs. You’ve performed, played and competed with great gusto – from IPSHA to IGSA, from PJ Factor to PAC, from Eisteddfods to academic competitions, from Regionals to Nationals and Worlds, and everything in between.
You have pioneered learning in countless new ways – too many to recall here. And you have respected the environment at Pymble and Vision Valley, as well as yourselves. Taking part in Wellbeing Days, Gloucester Gatherings, Kindness Clubs, Push Up Challenges, House Days, Wise Phones, Stride, Nourish and Flourish, Compass Group activities and other bonding events have all contributed to your sense of wellbeing and belonging, which in turn has contributed to your success this year.
Our wonderful Pymble staff are deeply committed to contributing to your success, and I’d like to thank them for giving all that they give to support your learning and this super-busy 24/7 College that never fully stops!
Thank you to our tireless Deputy Principals, Ms Rockwell, Mr Raymond and Mrs Kenny, our Senior Executive and Executive teams, Heads of Learning Areas, Wellbeing leaders, Chaplains, the team at Vision Valley, our hard working and passionate teachers, our Boarding and Professional Services staff and all those who work as part of our Pymble family. This includes our cleaners, caterers, crossing attendants, casual coaches, coach drivers – and that’s just starting and stopping at the letter C. Each of you plays an important role in the development of those we rise each day to serve, our students.
Thank you to our Chair of the Board, Mr Chris Fydler OAM, and all our College Board members who give so generously of their time and their talent to serve Pymble. And to our Foundation Chair, Mr Simon Rothery, and Foundation Board members who also gift their time and expertise to support the aims of the College, simply because they care.
Finally, thank you to our parents for modelling Respect in how you have supported your daughters and the College this year. It’s things both big and little that mean so much, like the small army of parents serving paella and gelato to staff on World Teacher’s Day, through to those who turn up asking how they can help – whether that’s pedalling smoothies in the Junior School or delivering care packs to those of us who needed a little TLC. Thank you for role modelling Respect to your daughters. We notice, and we appreciate you.
As we bring this year to a close, let us carry forward the quiet strength of Respect that has shaped our moments, our relationships and our growth in 2025. In this community, Respect is more than a value we speak about — it’s a daily commitment that binds students, staff and families together through our actions. My Christmas wish is that we carry that same spirit into 2026 to build an even stronger, kinder and more connected College community.
Signing off for the year with a little help from my elves. Merry Christmas to you all.

I wish you all a safe, happy and healthy summer holiday. I look forward to welcoming you back to the Junior School in 2026. For those of you who are graduating from the Junior School into Year 7, I sincerely thank you for your friendship over the years, your trust and sense of community. Whilst your daughters are moving into Year 7, rest assured that we always cheer on our Junior School girls as they travel through the College. For those of you who are leaving the College, we wish you all the very best in your new adventures.
Take care and thank you for the care you show me as Head of this phenomenal Junior School.
With love to you all, Mrs Brown
Message from Lara Bird – Deputy Head of Junior School – Academics
Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an awards ceremony in Canberra, where three of our Junior School girls were recognised in the Pens Against Poverty Competition – two of our girls won their category and a third student was awarded highly commended for her exceptional work. This celebration of literary excellence crowns an already extraordinary week of academic achievement.
Our Junior School girls have also delivered outstanding results in both ICAS Assessments and the AMT Mathematics Competition, with many achieving Distinction (Top 10%) and High Distinction (Top 1%) results. These competitions are optional competitions. We also had 2 medallists this year, Ellie He, winning an ICAS medal for writing and Emma Deere, winning an ICAS medal for spelling.
Complementing these academic triumphs, our debating team claimed victory in the grand final of the International Debating Competition, exemplifying impressive critical thinking and collaborative skill.
We are so Pymble proud of all our Junior School girls – their accomplishments, their passion for learning and the academic growth they have demonstrated throughout the year. Well done, girls – your remarkable achievements exemplify dedication, talent and the very best of Pymble spirit.
Enjoy your summer holiday and see you in 2026!
Stationery
Please refer to the portal notice for 2026 stationery orders. Please place your order before 14 December to ensure that your daughter receives all stationery items before the start of the school year.
Girls are to have all items on the stationery list, however if you have items that are of the same quality and in good condition, you may use those items rather than purchasing new. Students are to bring in all stationery items on the first day of Term 1.
Message from Martha Itzcovitz, Junior School Librarian
International Debating Competition
Last Friday was a big night for one of our Year 6 debating teams. After qualifying the week before in the quarter finals of the International Debating Competition (IDC), Hayley Du, Alicia Miao and Yuanya Miao won their semi-final debate against Cranbrook and went straight into the Grand Final where they won against Sydney Debating College, becoming IDC Junior Division Grand Final Winners.
I’d like to congratulate all of our Year 6 IDC Debaters for qualifying for the quarter finals. Well done Aurora Lin, Alicia Miaio, Sarah Lu, Angelina Kim, Naomi Shi, Hayley Du, Ellie He, Josephine Tamas, Yuanya Miao and Vivian Li for a fabulous season!

From the Upper School
A message from Victoria Harrison, Head of Upper School
Another rich and rewarding year in the Upper School draws to a close. Our Year 9 and 10 students have embraced a wide range of learning and co-curricular opportunities at Pymble, at Vision Valley, across Sydney and around Australia. Students have embraced exchange opportunities and overseas trips to Tanzania and Europe. We are immensely proud of their growth, courage and contribution. As the holidays approach, please encourage your daughters to genuinely rest, enjoy time with family and friends, and return refreshed for the year ahead.
We especially farewell our Year 10s as they step into the Senior School and all the possibilities that await them. Like proud parents, we will be cheering them on from a distance, and we look forward to welcoming them back to Upper School for visits next year. Our Year 9s will now take up the mantle as leaders and stewards of the Upper School, and there is great confidence in the thoughtful and inclusive leaders they will become. We know that they will do a great job welcoming the current Year 8 students into Upper School.
A huge thank you to all Upper School families for the privilege of partnering with you in your daughter’s education. Parenting adolescents is complex and demanding, and navigating Years 9 and 10 involves new friendships, new subjects, emerging independence and plenty of questions about the world. Thank you for working alongside us as your daughters learn, make mistakes, reflect and mature during these pivotal years. We hope that your daughters have had a great year and are excited for what comes next. As the year ends and the girls (and parents) have wound down after a busy year, encourage your daughter to reflect on what that sparked joy or growth, and the activities she might explore next year at Pymble. Perhaps over the summer holidays you will have the chance to discuss skills she wants to build, friendships to nurture, or interests to pursue, while balancing academics and wellbeing. Thoughtful choices in sport, performing arts, service, or extended learning can help to foster purpose and connection in 2026.
The many wonderful experiences the girls enjoy are made possible by an exceptional Upper School team. Thank you to Dr Mariel Lombard, Mrs Sally Seymour, Mrs Sabine Watts and Mrs Anthea Deschamps for their seamless organisation behind the scenes and the daily care they show your daughters. A big shout out to the Vision Valley and Outdoor Education team for supporting the girls throughout the Residential Program and the adventures of the Year 10 OEP. Sincere thanks also to the Heads of Year 9 and 10, Ms Stephanie Attley, Mr Peter Fathers, Ms Cara Foley and Mr Andrew Heggie, for their tireless dedication, guidance and advocacy, which have had a lasting impact on our students.
Wishing everyone a relaxing summer holiday and a Merry Christmas season.
From the Senior School
From the Head of Senior School – Mrs Nikki Wyse
As we come to the end of a full and rewarding term, warmest wishes go to all Senior School families for a safe, peaceful and happy summer break. This holiday period offers a valuable chance to pause, slow down and enjoy time together, whether you are travelling, staying local or gathering with family and friends. May the weeks ahead be filled with rest, laughter and moments that become cherished memories.
A heartfelt thank you to our Year 12 students, who have made such a strong and positive start to their final year. Their focus, perseverance and willingness to step into new responsibilities have been impressive, and it has been a pleasure to see their confidence grow. Congratulations to those recognised at Speech Day for their achievements, and equal appreciation to every student who has shown resilience, improvement and personal growth throughout the term.
Exodus Foundation
Gratitude is also extended to our Senior School families for the generosity shown in donating items to support the Exodus Foundation this Christmas. Your contributions help make the festive season more special for families doing it tough and are a powerful example of compassion, community spirit and standing alongside those in need.
Year 12 Secret Santa and Christmas Party
Among the many highlights of the term, the Year-wide Secret Santa was a particularly joyful occasion, capturing the fun, kindness and friendship that characterise this wonderful group of young women. Events like this remind us how fortunate we are to be part of such a connected and caring community.
Sony Camp
Best wishes to all the Pymble and Shore students preparing to participate in this year’s Sony Camp, hosted here at Pymble. The students and staff have invested significant effort to create an enriching and joyful experience for the campers. This special camp not only provides wonderful adventures and support for the children involved but also offers much-appreciated respite for their families as they approach the busy Christmas season. Special thanks to the many families who have contributed to make this a special experience for the children and their families.
Boarders’ Christmas Service and Dinner
Many thanks to the Boarding Community for inviting us to their special Christmas Chapel service and dinner. It was a joy to be part of this beautiful occasion, witnessing the girls’ warmth and the strong community spirit they share. It was also great fun to enjoy their performances, especially from the Pymbellas, followed by a delicious Christmas dinner complete with crackers, festive hats and all the traditional celebrations.
Year 12 Social 2026
The girls have received a link to purchase tickets for themselves and a guest (if they wish) to our Year 12 Social, scheduled for 27 February early next year.
As we move into the holiday season, please encourage your daughters to take time for rest and wellbeing, as well as to keep up a small amount of study, as suggested by Mrs Stanfield and their teachers, to stay on track for the year ahead. Returning refreshed, they will be well placed to embrace the opportunities of their final year with pride and purpose. Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas and a bright, fulfilling New Year.

Time to celebrate
Speech Day is a wonderful tradition and a fitting celebration of the fabulous achievements of the Pymble community. My congratulations go to each of our Boarders, who have so admirably met the challenges of living away from home this year. Through it all, they have shown incredible tenacity, courage, compassion, and kindness, usually (😉) with a smile. I couldn’t be prouder of the spirit and resilience they bring to our College.
I am also proud to see so many of our Boarders being publicly recognised for their commitment, hard work and community spirit. Given the size of our Boarding cohort, it was wonderful to see the Boarders so well represented in the pool of awards. Congratulations to the following Boarders who were received Speech Day awards.

First in Physical and Activity Sports Studies (200 hours) – Evie Farr
First in Agriculture (100 hours) – Georgina Stanley
The Boarding House Trophies were also announced at Speech Day. With a history almost as long as our College, they are a fitting record of the spirit and endeavour of our Boarding community.
The Angus Cup was first introduced in 1929 with points being awarded for sport, singing, drama, debating and essay writing. Today, we are a little more liberal with additional points awarded for beautiful bedrooms, lots of handball championships, the odd board game and even some Just Dance. I am delighted to announce Hammond House as the winner of the Angus Cup and congratulated our Hammond Spirit House Captains, Allegra and Evie on leading their Houses to victory.
Introduced in 1927, The Foundation Shield records the winners of the Day School verses Boarders swimming competitions. This year, our Day Girls have been triumphant in defeating the Boarders by just .04 of a second. Please be on notice; the Boarders are in training for 2026!
Dating back to 1960, the Boarders’ House Cup for Excellence in Physical Education is awarded to the Spirit House who score the highest points for representation in sporting teams. This year, Goodlet House, along with their Captains, Leander and Phoebe were triumphant.
It’s no surprise that the Boarders’ House Sports Cup is all about inter-house sporting and team events. Congratulations go again to Hammond House and Allegra and Evie for their efforts.
Congratulations to our new Big Sisters
We pride ourselves on the sense of community that exists in Boarding at Pymble and our ‘Big Sister’ program is an important part of building relationships across the various age groups. The program is designed to support younger girls to transition into Boarding by linking them with a Boarder from Year 10 who acts as a friend and mentor. Another aim of the Big Sister program is to help younger Boarders develop a sense of autonomy and to encourage the development of safe and responsible behaviour outside of the College. Our Big Sisters are excellent role models who consistently demonstrate the College values. They try, whenever possible, to go out of their way to assist their Little Sister, helping with homework, organisation, friendship conflicts and even homesickness. Big Sisters have a wonderful opportunity to provide genuine support, interest and empathy for their Little Sister and I am delighted to share our big sisters for 2026: Alice, Alexandra (Allie), Annabel, Cate, Cleo, Emma, Gemma, Harriett, Lily, Lucy, Madeleine (Mads), Margaux, Mataya, Olivia, Poppy, Rose, Sasha, Selina, Siri and Stella.
Love It
Our last weekend for the year and what a great weekend it was. Year 10 returned from camp on Friday afternoon and after a shower settled in for a relaxing evening. Year 8 enjoyed a Balmoral Beach picnic. There was much excitement in the water and lots of laughs as they celebrated together. A different picnic for Year 9 under the Harbour Bridge in Milsons Point and how could they walk past a gelato bar without having gelato?! A Saturday afternoon trip was organised for Year 7 to view the Christmas decorations that have been assembled around the city. When asked how their trip was, the Christmas tree did get a mention but so did Maccas and Mecca.
On Monday night, it was a special time for the community to come together to celebrate our Boarders’ Christmas party. We gathered for Chapel and watched the nativity play that our Year 12 Boarders had prepared. The congregation was treated by our Pymbellas and their musical counterparts before we headed to the Boarders’ Dining room for a Christmas feast. After our Christmas delights, our Boarders were able to relax and dance in celebration of all their efforts and accomplishments from the year.
Congratulations to Sienna our Term 4 Brooksie Recipient
The Margaret Brooke, “Brooksie”, is awarded each term to a Boarder who exemplifies the spirit of a tenacious, courageous, compassionate and giving woman. This Boarder consistently upholds and demonstrates the College values and actively contributes to the Boarding community while demonstrating dedication to her studies. A Brooksie recipient consistently displays ‘Pymble Pride’ including wearing appropriate school uniform, being punctual and maintaining a tidy room.
Sienna is a proud Gamilaraay woman who joined us from Wee Waa on the north-western slopes of New England, New South Wales, when she was in Year 7. Now an accomplished Year 10 Boarder, Sienna exemplifies all that it means to be a Brooksie recipient. She is kind, organised, helpful and capable, all the while embodying the College values.
There are countless ways in which Sienna demonstrates altruism and leadership. I have a very strong image of Sienna being a wonderful ‘mother hen’, leading her little ‘chicks’ – our younger Boarders – with care, patience and expertise in the First Nations Dance troupe. She is an enchanting dancer and shares her love of this cultural pursuit with poise and passion. It was equally wonderful to seeing her representing us so powerfully during the NAIDOC Week celebrations where she interviewed another incredible woman, her mum!
The manner in which Sienna gathers up people and brings them together is impressive. This extends not only to her Boarding sisters, where she is known for her proactive approach to bringing the group together, but also to visitors to the College. Just one example of her inclusiveness was at our community brunch where she made it her mission to ensure an elderly gentleman from the Pymble and Gordon Uniting Church congregation felt welcome and well fed. Sienna happily fetched tea and brunch for the gentleman, all the while cheerfully chatting. She demonstrates maturity and hospitality beyond her years.
A regular at Boarders Get Baking she is a stalwart when it comes to giving back – whether it is lending a hand at Boarders Get Giving or ensuring the cupcakes are ready for Garden Party – Sienna is there with spirit and a smile. Her room is always spotless and she is the first to put her hand up to assist anyone and everyone. She wears her uniform perfectly and with pride. It is almost impossible to find her without a lovely smile and we are all very grateful for the joy she brings to our Boarding family.
A huge thank you
Lastly, and most importantly, my heartfelt thanks for sharing your beautiful girls with us. It is a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of their lives and watch them grow and develop into the caring, giving and capable young women they are.
Every good wish for a happy, safe and family filled festive season.

THE POWER OF SPORT – Pymble and Milingimbi Athletics Coaches unite.
The College’s partnership with Milingimbi School in NE Arnhem Land, facilitated by the Yadha Muru Foundation, is creating a profound and lasting impact on students from both communities. Through this unique partnership, the two schools are working together to decrease the disparity between urban and remote education while fostering two-way learning, intercultural understanding, mutual respect, and genuine connection.
Last week on Main Oval, athletes and coaches from Milingimbi and coaches from Pymble Athletics joined together in a sprints speed session that highlighted the power of sport to transform lives.
Since mid-2023, Pymble has nurtured this city-country partnership – with sport playing an integral role to empower.
Sprint sensation Kristie Edwards (Pymble 2017) led the speed session alongside fellow Pymble Coach, Australian representative, Zane Branco and Milingimbi Coach Jeremy Guruwiwi.
This session extended far beyond the joy of movement – it opened possibilities, challenged thinking and grew self-belief, purpose and connection.
Thanks to her Pymble experience, Kristie – an Australian representative at World Championships and the Paris Olympic Games - is optimising her potential and realising her dreams.
And, last week, Kristie lit a spark and knocked down a hurdle for the athletes and coaches of Milingimbi to live their dreams in sport. Please take a minute to enjoy a short video and the coaches’ thoughts and feedback.

From the Chaplains
If everything is included at Christmas is Hate included?
I know that this question seems an odd one to end the year with, but it was a lovely curly question that I was asked by some students as they left Middle School Chapel on Friday.
And it got me thinking.
So, thank you to the students that asked. I love a good challenging question.
To explain, during the Chapel service, I had invited Middle School to think about all the things that were included as a vital part of bringing Jesus into the world on that first Christmas. My intention was to show that if we want to be part of bringing the Love, Hope, Peace and Joy of Jesus into the world today, we need to include the same things.
Because, the interesting things is that when we look closely at the Christmas story as told in the scriptures we discover that everything was included on that first Christmas. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. At the first Christmas people from all cultures were included as were people from all socio- economic situations. There were those who were very poor and those who were very wealthy. There were people of all ages and genders, and those from different faiths.
The first Christmas also included animals of many different species, as well as the created world itself. Remember the star that moved across the sky as well as different places from which the various people and animals travelled.
Most of these people included are remembered as kind and friendly. But not all. This is where the question I was asked came from ecause in my reflection I said that even Herod was included. Herod was a cruel leader, and his intention in finding Jesus was to kill him. Hence the question by the students. If everything is included at Christmas, is hate included?
The answer here of course is definitively NO.
Everything was included, but not all behaviours were. Why? Well simply because some behaviours, or mindsets if you like, prevent us from being part of bringing God’s Hope, Peace, Love and Joy into the world, and hate is one of those. Hate is the opposite of all of these things.
Herod was there at the first Christmas. He had the opportunity to be part of the bringing of God’s hope, peace, joy and love into the world, but his actions were contrary to the love that we know as Jesus. And this meant that though he was included on that first Christmas he was prevented, by the Magi or wise people, from being at the centre of the story, with Jesus, because they realised that his intention was not as it should be been. Herod was included, but he was not part of bringing the hope peace, joy and love of Jesus into the world. He could have choose to be a different path, but he didn’t.
Herod choose injustice over love, and deception over hope. Herod choose power over peace, and oppression over joy.
Why am I telling you all of this at Christmas? Well, I want you to think about who you will include in your story next year. And I really do want you to include everyone and all things that you possibly can, particularly our vulnerable and hurting planet. I even want you to include people you would prefer not to include, or don’t want to because they are different from you, or you don’t think you will get along. Give them a chance to be hope, peace, joy and love in your life, and you might get a wonderful surprise. This is your part in bringing Hope, Peace, Joy and Love into the world.
But if it doesn’t work, that is ok. You have done your part. We don’t have to accept certain behaviours or mindsets if they are contrary to God’s love. Instead we can, like the Magi or Wise people, work together to challenge them in ways that are gentle and respectful, taking a different path if you like for ourselves. Ultimately, like those at the first Christmas, our part is to include everyone and then to work together to keep hope, peace joy and love that Jesus is at the centre. This is how, together, we all bring this Jesus into the world every day.
Have a wonderful Christmas, and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year

This session extended far beyond the joy of movement – it opened possibilities, challenged thinking and grew self-belief, purpose and connection.
Thanks to her Pymble experience, Kristie – an Australian representative at World Championships and the Paris Olympic Games - is optimising her potential and realising her dreams.
And, last week, Kristie lit a spark and knocked down a hurdle for the athletes and coaches of Milingimbi to live their dreams in sport. Please take a minute to enjoy a short video and the coaches’ thoughts and feedback.

Pymble Ladies’ College Artistic Gymnastics Christmas Display: A Spectacular Celebration of Skill and Spirit
Last week, the Pymble Ladies’ College community was treated to a truly fabulous Artistic Gymnastics display, bringing together our talented gymnasts from Kindergarten through to Year 12. The event was a wonderful showcase of dedication, hard work, and spectacular talent, as each gymnast took to the floor and apparatus to demonstrate what they have achieved this year.
Spectators were left in awe as our students wowed with flips, leaps, balances and choreographed routines that highlighted not only their athletic abilities but also their creativity and team spirit. The atmosphere in the gym was electric, with family, friends, and staff cheering enthusiastically and showing their support. Click here for a short video of one of the group routines.
It’s been a fantastic year for gymnastics at Pymble Ladies’ College. We are incredibly proud of each and every gymnast – from our youngest participants learning new skills to our more experienced athletes reaching new heights. None of this would be possible without the commitment of our wonderful coaches, the support of our staff, and the encouragement of our families.
As we wrap up the year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making 2025 such a memorable and successful year for gymnastics at Pymble.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Safe travels, happy holidays, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in the gym in 2026, ready for another amazing year!

World U20 Cross Country Trials
Last Friday, Eliza Lawton (Year 9) lined up for the World U20 Cross Country trials, racing over 6km at the purpose-built Cross Country course in Canberra. Eliza ran an incredibly gutsy race and has given herself the best chance to be selected in the Australian team to compete at the World Cross Country Championships to be held in Tallahassee in Florida. Eliza had a strong finish and made-up significant ground over the last 2.5km loop to finish an outstanding sixth. We wait in anticipation to see if Eliza is selected in the team of six to compete at the World Cross Country Championships.
I also congratulate one of our Cross Country coaches and Pymble Alumna, Caitlyn Tan, who finished an impressive eighth in the women’s 10km open race. A fantastic achievement and an inspiration to our girls.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all our coaches for their dedication, enthusiasm and support of the girls throughout the year. A special thank you to our amazing Athletics Co-ordinator, Miss Dale, for all her behind the scenes work and her unwavering support of the program and our athletes.

Congratulations to our Primary 3 International Debating Championship (IDC) team. These girls took out the grand final win on Friday evening and were declared winners of the whole primary division of IDC. Congratulations girls on your impressive win. Thanks also to Mrs Itzcovitz for her ongoing support of our primary debaters and to Penny Jin, their coach.

Congratulations to Athena Wu (Year 8) who gained the top speaker score in the IDC Competition – Junior division. Well done Athena!
2026 Debating Team Auditions
Language Arts Debating in house auditions have been finalised. Some girls who will join Pymble next year are still being auditioned. Teams will be released as soon as possible.
Thank you to those who sent in expressions of interest and to those who finalised deposits in recent days for the THIMUN tour. THIMUN is a Model United Nations (MUN) conference held in The Hague. We are combining attending the conference with a trip to London, Oxford, Bruges and Amsterdam. This enriching, international Language Arts excursion is planned for January 2027 and will be open to girls in Years 9 to 12 in 2027. Please contact travel@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au or Mrs Hubbard, BHubbard@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au for further information.
State Conference, UN Youth – Early Bird Discount
The 2026 State Conference will bring together nearly 200 young minds in Years 9 to 12 from across NSW to engage in Model UN debates, workshops and interactive activities on topics rarely covered in the school curriculum.
Critical Skills: Students develop public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking skills through Model UN and problem-solving simulations.
Real-World Context: The 2026 these, “The Age of Energy”, explores the transition from fossil fuels to renewables.
Note: This is incredible relevant as Australia will be the principal negotiator for COP31.
Community: It connects like-minded students in Years 9 to 12 from across NSW in a safe, social environment.
Review:
“UN Youth has provided Hunters Hill students with a unique opportunity to broaden their worldview, build confidence, and engage meaningfully with the issues shaping our future… It has empowered our students to think critically, collaborate thoughtfully, and recognise their own capacity to lead.” – Year 12 Advisor, Hunter’s Hill High School
Please note, Pymble does not include or supervise this as part of our program, but each year girls from Pymble attend and speak highly of the conference. If you are interested in attending as an individual, please click here.
SBHS MUN – Friday 5 December
Those students attending the Sydney Boys’ MUN on Friday5 December, please note that Co-curricular Administration has sent a note regarding transport details. A bus will leave Pymble at 8.15am and return at 5.30pm. Permissions must be completed. Mrs. Hubbard will attend this event

Week 8
This is the final entry for 2025. It’s hard to believe that this time last year, we were frantically planning for our Music tour to Spain and Portugal on top of all the end of year events. Memories of the trip linger with all the girls and the staff, and, in the New Year, we will begin planning for our trip to 2027 to Croatia, Italy and Slovenia. This will be open to all music students in Years 7 to 12. Communication for this will begin in earnest towards the end of 2026. Please start talking with your daughter about this trip.
Congratulations

Special prize: Senator of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Martin Krsek Prize for the interpretation of W. A. Mozart – Sonata in B flat major, K. 333 (1st movement)
Carols Service
The Carols Service was a beautiful celebration of all things Christmassy. Parents were entertained by the Junior and Senior Jazz Ensembles, then Stage Band with Lizzie Tang making a reappearance as a 2025 graduate. Santa’s arrival with his trusty reindeer (I mean, dog) by his side was a highlight for the younger children.
Inside the Chapel, we heard from the Piccoline Choir, Pizzicato strings, Junior School Choir, Capella Chamber Choir, Senior Choir, Pymble Chorale, and Senior Chamber Strings. All ensembles delivered outstanding performances, presenting music from Corelli to Mendelssohn and from John Rutter to Deborah Cheetham, interwoven with the rousing singing of Community Carols accompanied on our beautiful organ. Thanks to the readers who presented the Chronicles of Christmas, beautifully accompanied by instrumentalists Hayley Lam (Year 9), Danielle Hu (Year 8), Ivy Yan (Year 7) and Emma Popli (Year 7).
Thank you to the Music Support Group who cooked and prepared a sausage sizzle for all to eat, along with yummy treats for dessert. The parents decorated the Chapel, making it look so festive, joyous and welcoming.
End of 2025
As I write this final entry for 2025, I am in rehearsals for the Junior School Speech Day. Watching these young ladies sit patiently, play with maturity, and enjoying the chitter chatter they bring makes one realise how fortunate we are at Pymble. We have a brilliant music program, and all the staff would like to thank the parents for their ongoing support of their daughters’ learning of their instruments and encouraging their musical journey.
Registrations
Please remember that existing students MUST register for their co-curricular programs for 2026. Rolls will be set according to these. If you have any queries, please contact musicadmin@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au who can help you.

Junior Metropolitan Championships
What an outstanding weekend of racing for our Pymble swimmers! Ten of our athletes represented the College at the NSW Junior Metropolitan Championships at Sydney Olympic Park, delivering an inspiring display of determination, skill and team spirit.
Across the meet, our girls produced fantastic swims, celebrated numerous personal bests, and showed true Pymble pride on the big stage.
We would like to extend a special congratulations to our Top 10 finalists, whose standout performances placed them among the best in NSW. Their hard work and commitment continue to make our squad proud.
Top 10

Kathy Lun (Year 5) – 100m Butterfly
Olivia Sun (Year 3) – 50m Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly
Isabella Wang (Year 6) – 100m Butterfly and 100m Breaststroke.
While not every swimmer made the Top 10, every Pymble girl who competed played an important role in the team’s success. Their courage to step up on the blocks, chase personal bests, and embrace the challenge of championship racing was truly inspiring. Many achieved significant improvements, showed excellent race skills, and demonstrated the resilience and determination we value so highly in our program. Their effort, attitude and team spirit were outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented Pymble across the entire weekend. We would like to congratulate them below!
Alicia Gong (Year 4), Vera Le (Year 4), Rose Wang (Year 5), Genevieve Wong (Year 6), Olivia Yu (Year 5), Yifei Zheng (Year 4), and Mia Xu (Year 4)

This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and team spirit shown by every swimmer across the weekend.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our coaches—Jarrod, Stephen, Sara and Rohan—for their guidance, support and tireless commitment throughout the competition. Their leadership played a key role in helping our swimmers perform at their best and enjoy a successful meet.

Term 4 Tennis
As we wrap up another fantastic Term 4 igsa and IPSHA Tennis season, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Pymble teams. Congratulations to igsa Pymble 1, who were crowned Senior Division 1 champions, and to igsa Pymble 10, who claimed the Junior Division 1 title. Both teams went undefeated throughout the entire season, an outstanding accomplishment that reflects their consistency, teamwork and commitment.
We also acknowledge the success of igsa Pymble 20 and Pymble 23, who each won their respective divisions. Well done to all players and coaches involved for their hard work and enthusiasm across the season.
Last week, a talented Pymble team also represented the College in Traralgon, Victoria, at the Gallipoli Youth Cup – School Teams Tennis Nationals. Despite missing our number one player, Ariel Gunawan (Year 10), and facing the strongest school tennis teams in Australia, the girls battled through challenging windy conditions to finish a commendable sixth place, winning three out of their six ties. Their resilience, teamwork and competitive spirit were outstanding throughout the event.
Congratulations to the team of Ayeesha Dowerah (Year 10), Isabella Su (Year 9), Elona Thorne (Year 8), Elizabeth Bull (Year 12), Risha Kumar (Year 7) and Chloe Morrison (Year 7).
Another special mention goes to Isla Morrison (Year 4) for her recent Tennis achievements. After being selected in Tennis NSW Super10s squad this year, Isla participated in two competitions this term – 2025 U10 NSW State Teams Championship in late October and 2025 U10 NSW v VIC State of Origin last weekend. Isla competed well in both events and enjoyed and grew from the experience of playing against stronger opponents.
Congratulations to all our players on a successful season. We look forward to seeing you back on court in 2026!

As the final rounds of the igsa Touch Football Championship come to an end, we look back on what has truly been an incredible season. Our teams have pushed themselves, shown immense skill, and represented the school with pride and determination every week.
We are delighted to share that eight out of our 11 teams finished in the top four for their grade in the igsa 2025 Touch Football Championship season. An outstanding achievement that highlights the depth of talent, commitment, and teamwork across our squads.
A very special mention must go to our student referees who have excelled this term. Thank you for your dedication, often backing up straight after your own matches to officiate for your peers. Your efforts have ensured the smooth running of every game and are a testament to your leadership and sportsmanship.
Our Team of the Week is Pymble 5, who finished their season in spectacular style with an incredible 15 to 1 win, securing second place overall in their division. Well done girls, your determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship made us all proud!
To every student who took part this season, congratulations on your hard work, improvement, and achievements. You have all learnt and grown as players and as a team, and we could not be prouder of your efforts.

Week 7
What an incredible conclusion to the 2025 Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball competition! This past Saturday saw our Pymble teams take to the court one last time this season, fiercely contesting grand finals and bronze medal matches. The energy, passion, and sportsmanship displayed by all teams was truly inspiring, capping off a season filled with outstanding growth and memorable moments.
Pymble 2: The Senior Seconds took on St. Andrew’s 1 in their grand final. Despite facing a strong and well-drilled opponent, our girls never backed down, fighting for every point right to the end. Though ultimately falling short (0 to 3), the team’s journey this season has been one of perseverance and marked improvement, finishing runners-up in a highly competitive division.
Pymble 5: Our Year 8 Division 1 team capped off their fantastic season with a hard-fought 2 to 1 victory over Monte 9 to claim the grand final title! In a tense and exhilarating match, the girls showed immense composure and teamwork, especially during crucial points in the deciding set. Their growth and determination throughout the season have been a pleasure to watch, and they are truly deserving champions.
Pymble 7: The Year 7s brought home the championship trophy in style, defeating Brigidine 7 with a commanding 3 to 0 victory in their grand final. The girls played some of their best volleyball of the season, demonstrating excellent skill, communication, and enthusiasm. Winning the title is a wonderful reflection of their positive attitude both on and off the court.
Pymble 1: Playing for bronze against Rosebank College 1, the team produced a gutsy 2 to 1 win. After a challenging season and a tough semi-final, the girls rallied magnificently, displaying resilience and unity when it mattered most. Securing third place is a fitting reward for all their hard work and commitment.
Pymble 3: Our Year 10 team also battled for bronze against Abbotsleigh 4. They edged a thrilling 2 to 1 win, showing real grit in a tight final set. The team’s growth across the season was evident in their calm handling of pressure and team-first mindset.
Pymble 4: Closing out a very strong year, Pymble 4 ended their season with a superb 3 to 0 victory over Abbotsleigh 7. Although not playing for a medal, the girls gave one last reminder of their development, finishing their campaign on a high and setting a great example for future squads.
Pymble 6: Competing for bronze, Pymble 6 pushed Barker College 5 all the way in a closely fought encounter but narrowly lost 1 to 2. The team’s positivity and determination have been strengths all season, and they can be extremely proud of their efforts right through to the end.
Season Wrap Up and Special Thanks
As the season concludes, it’s important to acknowledge and thank everyone who contributed to another outstanding campaign for Pymble Volleyball.
First and foremost, sincere gratitude goes to our phenomenal coaches, whose passion and expertise inspire our players to achieve their best every week. Thank you to the parents and supporters who fill the stands, provide lifts, and cheer on every team rain or shine—your support is deeply appreciated and makes all the difference.
Most importantly, thank you to all the girls for their commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. You have represented Pymble with pride on and off the court, and we are incredibly proud of how you have supported each other throughout the year.
A special mention must go to our outgoing Year 12 students. Your leadership, positivity, and dedication have left a lasting impression on teammates and coaches alike. You have helped shape the culture of our Volleyball program for the better, serving as wonderful role models for younger players. Thank you for everything you have given to Pymble Volleyball; we wish you all the very best for your future endeavours and hope you will always remember your time with the team fondly.
Congratulations once more to all our players on a memorable season! We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting year in 2026.
