DIVER Grading Night

On Tuesday 20 June, a DIVER grading night was held for all Divers. This was an exciting opportunity to test individual skills developed throughout the term and participate in a synchronised diving event. All divers tried their best displaying new and improved dives. It was great to see so many enthusiastic divers enjoying the camaraderie of their peers and the raw thrill that diving provides.

Congratulations to all divers that participated and assisted in the evening. We look forward to the next DIVER assessment night later in the year.

Holiday Diving

During the holiday break, the Junior Elite Diving Nationals was held in Adelaide. This was an opportunity for all Elite divers from around Australia to compete at the highest level.

Congratulations to Indie Leon Searle (Year 5) who competed in the event in both Dryland and Water Skills. This was a fantastic experience for Indie at this level and we congratulate her on her achievement and placing 7th overall.

In the last week of the holiday break, Diving held competitive/pathways and Come and Try sessions. It was fantastic to see both experienced and new divers participating in diving, learning new skills and challenging themselves on boards and platform.

World Aquatic Championships Fukuoka Japan

Congratulations to Alumni 2016 Brittany O’Brien who competed in the World Aquatic Championships in Fukuoka Japan. Brittney competed in the 1m springboard unfortunately dropping a dive and placing 27th in a field of 44. In the Synchronised 3m event Britt placed 6th with her partner and remain hopeful for qualification to Paris 2024.

We welcome back all divers to Term 3 and look forward to the School Sport Australia Championships in August for Angela Xenofontos (Year 9), Zara Ware (Year 4) and Emily Long (Year 4).

A reminder to all Competitive and Competitive Pathways divers to register with Diving NSW for the new season and in preparation for the Matt Mitcham Interclub on Sunday 20 August.
