Basketball
On Saturday 23 November, our Junior School Lauren Jackson Academy students had the incredible experience of learning from Australian basketball legend Lauren Jackson herself.
The afternoon was actioned packed with drills and skills aimed to both challenge and engage the girls. With the guidance of Lauren, students began with skills focusing on shooting technique, offensive transition, ball handling, and footwork. Following this, students had the opportunity to apply their skills into full court matches. Lauren was with the students providing feedback along the way.
Lauren Jackson, with her vast experience and passion for not only basketball but sport, shared invaluable tips and techniques, teaching our students how to refine their skills as well as develop a resilient mindset both on and off the court. Lauren spoke with the girls about the importance of winning and losing and the teaching moments that can be gained for those experiences. Lauren took the time at the end of the session to answer questions and share some guidance. She emphasised the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and having fun which resonated with all students and staff at the session.
Well done to all students who attended and showed Lauren how far their skills have developed since the beginning of the program.

IPSHA Basketball Round 6 – Saturday 23 November
Round 6 of IPSHA basketball saw all Pymble teams showcase basketball IQ improvement and dedication to developing their skills on the court. Their hard work during training sessions was evident on the court this weekend with each team’s decision-making skills and aggression with the ball.
What truly sets our Pymble teams apart from the rest is the team spirit and teamwork that every single player demonstrates, from cheering on their teammates in other teams to supporting each other on the court.
Teams of the week: All Years 3 to 6 IPSHA Basketball
Congratulations to all Years 3 to 6 IPSHA basketball students who have demonstrated across the entire term what it means to be part of a team and to challenge themselves to develop their skills. With one week of IPSHA basketball left, we look forward to one final round of energy, excitement and fantastic basketball.
