IPSHA Basketball – Round 2, Saturday 26 October

Round 3 IPSHA Basketball was filled with lots of energy, cheering and great basketball. All teams have shown significant improvement over the course of a few weeks in skills ranging from dribbling and shooting to passing and team communication.

Team of the Week: Pymble 9

On Saturday 26 October, Pymble 9 played Loreto 6. Our Pymble 9 players scored some amazing goals, with the first quarter score being 8 to 4. The second quarter was much better with players recognising that they needed to defend together as well as attack together, meaning a player was always defending the basket.

Due to some hard work from Alexandra Handley-Greaves (Year 5), Alana Waterhouse (Year 5) and Anaiya Patel (Year 5), our players managed to weave through the opposition to intercept and score a goal. In the second half, the main aim was to stay calm under pressure and this was shown through leadership from Dorothy Ban (Year 5) and Sooin Li (Year 5). The players worked together resulting in a nail-biting win of 18 to 14!
