From the Middle School
Welcome Back to all of our Middle School families. I hope that you had a wonderful break from the school routine and that you had some time to enjoy the beautiful weather. I would like to warmly welcome Jiarui Song of Year 7 and her family to Pymble in Term 3. Over the break our Middle School girls have been involved in some exciting ventures.

I would like to thank Tala Gubara, Amelia Lee, Leila Rich, Layla Abdel-Megeed and Saja Abdel-Megeed – all of Year 8 – for generously volunteering their time and enthusiasm on the last day of their holidays. The girls were involved in helping to facilitate an afternoon at Pymble, welcoming a group of young Afghan refugees for an assortment of activities and a celebratory afternoon tea.

Joy Yin (Year 8) has won the principle piano event at Sydney Eisteddfod – Kawai Junior Piano Scholarship (11-16 Years) through three rounds of competitions. On July 15, Joy performed a recital of 25min during the final round at Chippen Street Theatre, with a program comprised of music by Bach, Haydn, Chopin and Liszt. Quoting Joy’s piano teacher Dr. Wojciech Wisniewski’s comments “This is a serious accomplishment achieved in such competitive category with Joy being only 13 years old. It’s a worthy moment for celebration of hard work, dedication and love for music”. In addition, Joy has also won the event Piano Recital (14 years old) on July 4 at Town Hall.

Students across Pymble competed in the Regional Interschools Snowsports Championships held in Perisher. In Division 3 (Year 7 and Year 8), we witnessed impressive performances both in team and individual categories. In Alpine, our teams finished in first and ninth places, with Georgia Yuen (Year 8) securing second place individually and Aurora Zhang (Year 7) finishing third. Similar accomplishments were observed in the Ski Cross competition, with Georgia Yuen finishing first individually and Allegra Taubenschlag (Year 8) contributing to the team’s first-place finish by securing third place. We would like to congratulate all Middle School students who represented Pymble. What a wonderful achievement.
