From the PPA
Welcome back to Term 2 at Pymble! We trust your girls have now settled into their school routine and are enjoying the cooler weather.
Mother’s Day Morning Tea
To all our mums and carers, we thank you for being a wonderful role model for our girls. You are brave, gracious and beautiful both inside and out. To celebrate Mother’s Day please join us for our annual gathering with your amazing girls on Friday 12 May 2023 from 10.15 am to 11.15 am on Main Oval. Click here to register – ticket sales close today.
The girls are encouraged to wear Mufti dress in their house colours for a gold coin donation towards our charity for Mother’s Day Wayside Chapel.
Vision Valley
We currently have the third and largest group of adventurers from Pymble and St Ignatius’ College Riverview at Vision Valley, happily completing their residential program.
It is an incredible feat for our girls to register and attend this program. For some it will be their first time away from home and for others who are used to travelling and trekking it will be second nature to them. From our the entire community, well done and congratulations to all our students who have participated.
The residential program is pivotal in helping our girls develop not only their mental and physical resilience but their emotional intelligence and cognitive and social skills in a natural environment. It is a period where they are learning practical life skills, such as doing the laundry and building shelters to developing their creative thinking by putting together plays and musicals.
Rather than learning these things on social media and entertainment platforms like TikTok and YouTube they are learning how to develop their potential in real life scenarios, with real people, in relaxed surroundings.

Alumni Networking Event
The Alumni Networking Event will be held on Thursday 18 May from 6.00pm to 8.30pm at the Sydney office of KPMG at Barangaroo, co-hosted by Dr Hadwen and our Chair of College Board, James Hunter, who is also a partner at KPMG. This event is a partnership with the College and the Ex-Student Union (ESU).
For our parents who work in the corporate or business sector, we would love to extend an invitation on behalf of the ESU and the College board for you to attend as a mentor. There is no formal speech requirement for mentors. On the night there will be a relaxed, industry-based ‘breakout hubs’ where mentors and mentees can chat informally following the guest speaker presentations. This is also an opportunity for you to network with others in the Pymble family who work in your industry.
Should you be able to attend, you will be joining fellow industry professionals, members of the College Senior Executive team and guest speakers, including:
- Hester Leung (1993), Chief Operating Officer of My Specialised Accommodation Solutions
- Melanie Kurzydlo (2001), Executive Manager for Project Management at APP Corporation
- Fiona Walmsley (1996), General Manager for Climate and Environment at Woolworths Group
- Cristina Carter (2012), Senior Partnerships Manager at Westpac and Co-chair of Westpac’s Pro Bono Employee Action Group.
