The Eisteddfod Intensive Weekend took place last weekend and was filled with workshops, rehearsals and activities for the girls to develop their skills and teamwork.
To kick off the weekend, the girls received their costumes which got them excited for the weekend, and on Friday night an informative session was held to discuss the upcoming USA Dance Tour for 2024. The girls then enjoyed their first workshop, ‘Dance Cheer’, where they learnt fundamental cheer skills, tricks, and dance cheer movements. The girls had so much fun and loved learning a new style, by guest teacher Hannah from Applause Entertainment.
Throughout the weekend, the dancers dedicated themselves to their routines, rehearsing tirelessly in their choreography sessions, receiving guidance from Dr Sly, who gave the girls a presentation on training load, injury prevention, nutrition, and body image.
The Dance Captains, Claire and Georgia, ran a fun and interactive Trivia Workshop, where they covered several questions on array of topics including questions on their dance teachers! The weekend also included training sessions on floor work skills, and strength and flexibility classes that focused on building musical strength and stretching exercises, ran by guest teacher Miss Isabella Stanfield. The Dance Vision Workshop ran by Miss Cluff, involved a brainstorming session on ideas for Pymble’s new Dance Centre, and the Juniors dancers received valuable training on what it means to part of the Eisteddfod Team, and had a Hair and Makeup Session to prepare themselves for competitions.
The weekend concluded with a viewing of all the routines in the Gillian Moore Centre for Performing Arts which left everyone astounded by the high standard of dancing displayed, as the girls cheered each other on from the audience.
Overall, it was a successful and productive weekend, and the dancers should be very proud of their hard work, passion, and dedication, as they look forward to the Eisteddfod Season ahead!
