Music
Welcome back! Our rehearsals began in earnest this week and we are very excited to continue making music with your daughters.
Congratulations to Josie Green who performed The Last Post and Reveille magnificently at the Anzac Day Ceremony on Wednesday. These pieces of music are very difficult as each note must be pitched by changing the shape of your mouth (embouchure), meaning there can often be a “split” note.
Well done to the Middle School Concert Band, under the direction of Ms Zeltzer, who performed the processional and recessional with a three-week rehearsal break. Your teamwork was testament to your dedication and commitment – congratulations!
Ensemble clashes
A note on clashes with music and sport training: Please know that sport and music are both very important activities for your daughter and both faculties do recognise this. We therefore have a wonderful arrangement whereby we allow the girls to attend one sports training and their only music rehearsal/week. Your daughter must liaise with their coach to let them know. Please be reassured that your daughter will not be “dropped” because she can only attend one training session. If you have any queries regarding this, please email me and I will discuss this with the sports team.

Music Hoodies
The uniform store sells the hoodies for $50.00, and you can ask for “Music” to be embroidered along the back. The embroidery costs $15.00. Girls will be able to wear these during terms 2 and 3 but must travel in their school blazers to and from the College. The hoodies are not to be worn during the day. Please purchase them here.
