VEX IQ Competition at Darkinjung
On Friday 17 October, our teams set out for an exciting trip to Darkinjung School, where Pymble was proudly represented by five teams:
- 6510A Pro-testers – Rebecca Cooke (Year 6), Hayley Du (Year 6), Isabella Li (Year 5), Genevieve Wong (Year 6), Anna He (Year 4)
- 6510E AVAE – Vivien Huang (Year 5), Alex Xiao (Year 5), Alyssa Ng (Year 5), Euphemia Wang (Year 5)
- 6510F Pink Flooffy Unicorns – Isabella Meehan-Swaab (Year 5) Jingyi Wang (Year 6), Hailey Zhang (Year 5), Ellisha Chow (Year 5)
- 6510N McDuckies – Anne Lai (Year 5), Emily Yan (Year 5), Hailey Zhang (Year 5), Sabrina Zhao (Year 5)
- 6510P It’s a Jam – Adela Wu (Year 5), Annabel Zhang (Year 5), Jacqueline Yang (Year 5), Madeline Martin (Year 5)
The outdoor competition was an amazing experience. Pymble teams cheered each other on, supported their alliance partners, and demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the day.
A special congratulations to Team 6510A Pro-testers, who received the Judges Award for their outstanding effort and creativity!
VEX IQ Competition at Knox Grammar School
Following their success at Darkinjung, Pymble teams faced another exciting challenge on Monday 20 October competing at Knox Grammar School.
This time, eight teams represented Pymble with great enthusiasm:

- 6510C Copilot – Joy Hong (Year 6), Dorothy Ban (Year 6), Pipi Chen (Year 6), Alicia Miao (Year 6)
- 6510D Once Upon a Duck – Mikayla Kiang (Year 5), Sooin Lee (Year 6), Aurora Lin (Year 6), Claire Que (Year 5)
- 6510G – Evie Cho (Year 6), Ellie Zhang (Year 6), Anna He (Year 4)
- 6510J Nothing but Capybaras – Claire Cheng (Year 6), Joanna Li (Year 6), Avril Huang (Year 5), Sophia Wu (Year 5)
- 6510K ERROR: TEAM NAME NOT FOUND – Miranda Liu (Year 5), Jianing Li (Year 5), Jing Huang (Year 5), Mia Wang (Year 5)
- 6510M Tech Titans – Ariel Lee (Year 5), Tina Wang (Year 5), Celine Wang (Year 5), Norah Liu (Year 5)

The competition was filled with energy and determination. Even when teams encountered technical issues with their robots, they worked together to troubleshoot and get back into the game — a true demonstration of resilience and collaboration.
Pymble teams performed exceptionally well, taking home an impressive five awards:
- Amaze Award – Team 6510P It’s a Jam
- Build Award – Team 6510G
- Create Award – Team 6510K ERROR: TEAM NAME NOT FOUND
- Sportsmanship Award – Team 6510B Shrekbots
We are thrilled to share that Team 6510D (Once Upon a Duck) delivered an outstanding performance and was awarded the Excellence Award, recognising their excellence in design, coding, teamwork, and match performance. This fantastic achievement has also qualified the team for the upcoming State Championship, marking an exciting milestone for our robotics program!
Congratulations to all our teams for their outstanding performance, exemplary teamwork, and dedication to their projects — and best of luck to Once Upon a Duck as they prepare to represent Pymble at the state level!
VEX IQ Competition at Trinity Grammar School
After a wonderful week of robotics challenges, our Pymble teams were back in action at the VEX IQ Competition hosted by Trinity Grammar School on Wednesday 22 October.
Pymble was proudly represented by five talented teams:

The competition was an incredible display of determination, focus, and teamwork. Throughout the day, students collaborated with alliance partners, refined their strategies, and demonstrated resilience in the face of technical challenges. Their enthusiasm and support for one another truly embodied the spirit of Pymble robotics.
We are proud to share that two Pymble teams were recognised with awards for their outstanding efforts:

- Team 6510A (Pro-testers) – Create Award
Congratulations to all our amazing teams for their hard work, creativity, and perseverance.
A heartfelt thank-you to the participating schools and the volunteers whose time and effort made this event possible. It was a truly inspiring day celebrating innovation, learning, and community.
VEX V5 Competition at Loreto Kirribilli
On Friday 25 October, Pymble participated in the Loreto Kirribilli VEX V5RC Tournament, a blended competition that brought together Middle and High School teams from across Sydney.
Pymble proudly entered five Middle School teams:
- 65100C Pymble Potatos – Year 7 students: Renee Kong, Michelle Ng, Lexie Wang, Angela Li, Chloe Zheng
- 65100F Screwed – Year 8 students: Eden Ni, Adele Jiang, Ella Su, Madeleine King, Duola Lin
- 65100G Gerf – Year 8 students: Audrey Wyldhill, Sophia Wong, Charlotte Pang, Isabella Fung
- 65100H Night Fury – Year 7 students: Olivia Chen, Florence Cheng, Wendy Pan, Emma Fu
- 65100M Goosey Woosey – Year 7 students: Charlotte Ma, Ashleigh Yip, Viha Vijayasaravanan, Zainab Sijal
- Melanni Baker (Year 7) and Tian Xue (Year 7) also came along to support and help the team on the day.
The competition took a more strategic turn than usual, challenging teams to think critically about game plans and decision-making. It was inspiring to see our students collaborate, adapt, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills throughout the day.
A special congratulations to Teams 65100M Goosey Woosey and 65100C Pymble Potatos, who formed an alliance and finished as Tournament Finalists. These Year 7 students faced tough matches and we are proud of them for stepping outside their comfort zone, showing confidence in their choices, and standing by what they believed was right.
Congratulations also to Team 65100G Gerf for proudly earning the Innovate Award, Team 65100F Screwed for a well-deserved Judges Award, and Team 65100M Goosey Woosey for receiving the Sportsmanship Award, a true reflection of Pymble’s values in action.

VEX V5 Robotics Competition at The King’s School
On Sunday 26 October 2025, three teams headed to the V5 Competition at The Kings School:
- 65100A Astronauts: Summer Makan (Year 8), Aliya Singh (Year 8), Vivian Tian (Year 8), Liz Park (Year 7)
- 65100K Velocity: Bianca Ng (Year 7), Adeline Wu (Year 7), Chelsea Wang (Year 7)
- 65100H Night Fury: Olivia Chen (Year 7), Florence Cheng (Year 7), Wendy Pan (Year 7), Emma Fu (Year 7)
This was the final VEX V5 tournament of the year for Sydney teams. A blended event featuring both Middle and High School competitors. Pymble was proudly represented by three teams who demonstrated teamwork, creativity, and perseverance throughout the day.
Competing alongside High School teams provided our students with valuable learning experiences and inspiration to continue improving their robots and skills.
Congratulations to Teams 65100K Velocity and 65100H Night Fury for reaching the finals as Tournament Finalists. These Year 7 students, new to VEX V5 but bringing experience from VEX IQ, showed great skill and determination throughout the event. Also, to Team 65100K (Velocity) for winning both the Robot Skills Champion and Think Award, and to Team 65100A (Astronauts) for receiving the Innovate Award.
We are so proud of our Pymble teams for the incredible effort they’ve put into designing and building their robots this year. It’s been a fantastic season filled with growth, learning, and achievement!
Knox Grammar School VIQRC Mix and Match
Held on Monday 27 October, this was the last VEX IQ tournament in Sydney before the State Championship, a blended event with Elementary and Middle School teams. Pymble was proudly represented by eight Elementary teams who demonstrated teamwork, creativity, determination, and friendly competitiveness throughout the day.

Well done to Teams 6510C and 6510D for reaching the playoffs, and a special congratulations to Team 6510B Shrekbots for winning the Tournament Champion Award alongside Team 2076J from Knox Grammar School.
Team 6510D also achieved Teamwork 2nd Place and won the Amaze Award, Team 6510G earned the Innovate Award, and Team 6510K received the Sportsmanship Award.
We are so proud of all our teams for their outstanding effort and for representing Pymble with such enthusiasm and excellence.
