Don’t you just love this photo? It was taken on Foundation Day in 2016, which also marked the College’s 100th birthday and the start of our year of Centenary celebrations. The photo shows students at the time modelling some of the uniforms of years gone by.
You may have heard snippets of news over the past couple of years about an updated Pymble uniform in the making.
At the PPA Annual General Meeting two weeks ago, our Deputy Principal, Ms Lamia Rockwell, gave parents an overview of the impending changes and the rollout timeline, from the beginning of the changeover period until Term 4 in 2028, when all students will be required to wear items from the new range.
The decision to modernise our uniform has not been made lightly. It follows two years of careful consultation with all stakeholders (including students, families, alumni, staff and Board members) and numerous trials, tweaks and revisions based on this feedback. We are delighted to have arrived at range of items that is perfectly Pymble with a more contemporary aesthetic. It is alsomore comfortable, more versatile and more sustainable than the current uniform.
Full details of the new range of items and the rollout will be communicated to all families in Term 1 2026, following final fittings, tweaks and a photo shoot with students next week. And yes, the girls who have been trying on our updated uniform are very excited. My favourite comment from one of our Junior School girls was, “Wow, it’s not itchy!”. Needless to say, the girls are enjoying discovering how much more comfortable the new fabrics are to wear.
While there’s no need for you to take any action now, I thought it would be timely to share Ms Rockwell’s overview to the PPA with the whole community.
Key points to note
Your daughter will need fewer compulsory items for each stage of her Pymble journey, which makes the new uniform more cost effective.
The range is trans-seasonal and can be layered up or down to suit the weather.
Fabrics are better quality and much more comfortable to wear than the current fabrics.
There is no change to the colour scheme, and our heritage is beautifully respected (yes, the blazer is staying Pymble navy!).
The changeover will be gradual, over the course of three years, not all at once.
Compulsory items (K-12)
White long and short sleeve shirt
Black watch tartan skort (Junior School only) or skirt (all Secondary School years)
Navy blazer
Black watch tartan tie (same as the current one)
Hat (same as the current white one – one hat for all seasons, instead of two)
Optional items (K-12)
Summer Dress (one style for Junior School, one style for Secondary students)
Pants
Jumper
Hijab
The rollout timeline
The first two items in the new range – blazer and jumper – will be available to purchase from mid-Term 1 2026.
All items in the range will be available to purchase from Term 4 2026.
Families will have two years to transition fully to the new uniform, from Term 4 2026 until Term 4 2028.
During this transition period, the old uniform items will be sold at a reduced price to support families at different stages of their Pymble journey. For instance, students in Years 10, 11 and 12 may choose to see out their graduation in the old uniform and simply top up with items as required.
As previously mentioned, all details will be sent to you next year, including a comprehensive guide for parents. My aim today was to ensure everyone had an overview of where we are at in the process, and the plan moving forward. We look forward to rolling out full communications in Term 1 2026.
The school uniform holds a special place in the hearts and memories of our students and families, past and present. We look forward to stepping into this next chapter of Pymble history and making many more memories with you during our very special year of 110th birthday celebrations.
From the Junior School
A Message from Mrs Kate Brown, Head of Junior School
Recently I’ve been reading Gavin McCormack’s book Raising Resilient Children and as someone who is partnering with us through the DREAM Diploma, it’s been insightful to read his research and opinions on how we best prepare our children for their future. McCormack talks about five crucial skills children need to develop to lead the most meaningful and purposeful lives:
Creativity
Determination
Compassion
Independence
Resilience
As I reflect on the year, I am mindful of the many ways we create opportunities for our Pymble girls to build these skills through their academic learning, their Compass learning, their sport, and co-curricular endeavours throughout the year.
This week alone we have had:
Creativity – Year 5 engineering and racing billycarts with Riverview, Year 4 designing and making soil erosion prevention systems, Year 2 creating art inspired by Van Gogh and Paul Klee.
Determination– Year 5 leadership applications, Year 6 problem solving as they build and wire systems and collate data to power vehicles using different forms of sustainable energies, Year 2 creating bridges with various materials and testing them for their load-bearing capacity, Kindergarten learning songs and lines in preparation for their Nativity performance.
Compassion – Year 4 writing persuasive letters to the Western Australian Government about overfishing and the need for sustainable fishing practices after reading Blue Back by Tim Winton.
Independence– Year 6 learning how to read the ocean and look for rips so they can be safe whilst at the beach, Year 4 setting self-care goals including being of help at home, and Year 3 exploring instruments they may want to learn through the Big Band Blow.
Resilience – K-6 learning to swim and perfecting their stroke skills in the pool and all our dancers as they practise diligently and in additional rehearsals in readiness for the much loved annual Dance Showcase.
Year 5 Billycart Grand Prix
Our Year 5 Pymble girls, together with Year 5 students from St Ignatius Riverview, worked together to engineer billycarts. They carefully considered the materials, components, and design features needed for strength and performance. They collaborated to construct billycarts that were efficient and safe, demonstrating critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork throughout the process. Working in teams they raced their billycarts across a number of courses, including air resistance avenue, gravity grove, and friction freeway (a relay course). Each race enabled students to build their confidence as drivers, their skills in steering, and provided opportunities to observe push and pull forces in action.
Year 6 Surf Education – Rachel Kingsell, K-6 PDHPE Co-ordinator
The Year 6 girls were fortunate to have perfect weather and surf conditions for the Surf Education excursion to Manly Beach on Monday. The excursion complements our Term 4 swimming and water safety program in PDHPE, and provides the girls with valuable experience in the ocean. The girls learnt how to catch waves on a soft board, and how to dive under the waves and navigate swimming at the beach. The waves on Monday gave our students optimal conditions to build their confidence in the ocean and improve their skills.
During our Year 6 Surf Education trip to Manly, I learnt new skills like dolphin diving, a skill that helps us move through breaking waves, and surfing with a board, which builds our strength and co-ordination on water. I also loved connecting with friends on the sand between activities. We walked to Shelly Beach to practise floating and sculling in calmer waters. Seeing everyone laughing and squealing in the water encouraged me to experience the fun. By the end of the day, I felt proud of trying new things and grateful for the new memories we made together as Year 6. – Anthea Yang
Surf Education was an amazing experience for Year 6. Our surf coaches were so encouraging as we practised floating and surfing, always motivating us to do our best. One of my favourite activities was floating, it felt refreshing and fun as we learnt to tread water and float on our backs at Shelly Beach. We also practised a technique called the eggbeater, part of active floating, which helps us stay safe and confident in the water. The skills we learnt will definitely help us become responsible beachgoers, and we all left feeling proud and grateful for such a memorable day. – Sooin Lee

From the Middle School
From the Head of Middle School – Jenny O’Donnell
On Tuesday, Year 7 had the opportunity to attend Manly Surf School at Long Reef Beach as part of their annual Mind Body Spirit Day. This was a time to celebrate their wonderful achievements throughout 2025, and a chance to take time out of routines to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. The girls took to the water on longboards and boogie boards, expanding their skills and spending time walking along the beach in groups to explore the rock platforms with friends. A picnic lunch and some beach games rounded off the day, and by all accounts, the girls were sensational!
Please enjoy the student reflections below:
On Tuesday, we had the opportunity to go to the beach for Wellbeing Day. We got to school bright and early, and hopped on the buses taking us to Long Reef Beach. The sun was shining, which was perfect for our first activity – surfing. Before we got on the waves, we had a lesson on the basics of surfing and how to stay safe in the water. The waves were great, and some girls even managed to stand up. We then moved to our next activity – boogie boarding. The waves were massive, but the instructors kept us safe in the water. Afterwards, we warmed up and had some food before heading off on our beach walk. The scenery was beautiful; we took photos and even made sandcastles. By the time we got back on the bus, everyone was tired, sandy, and smiling from all the fun we’d had. – Luci and Taylor.
MBS day was really fun! We went for a walk along the beach and learnt how to surf and boogie-board. My group tried surfing first, which I enjoyed the most. We shared a board between two and tried to stand up while riding the waves back into shore, I definitely fell over a few times, which made it a lot funnier. Boogie-boarding was also great, the big waves would catapult us and it was HILARIOUS. At some points it would get really cold, so we took a break and I made a slide in the sand that we would ride down on our boogie boards! The walk along the beach was stunning, and the weather was perfect with blue skies and sunshine. I don’t think anyone has any storage left on their phone. If it was up to me I would do MBS day, EVERY DAY. – Lexie Kostalas
Year 7’s MBS day was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To be able to try new things with some of your closest friends meant a lot to both of us and Year 7 as a whole. We started the day off with a lovely beach walk, the perfect start to a thrilling day! It was nice seeing everyone enjoy their time down at Long Reef Beach where we would dip in the water, take some photos of the ocean view, and just admire the scenery. I remember being hesitant to go in the water and having sandy feet for the rest of the day, but after going in the glistening water, it was definitely worth it in the end! After the quick walk back, we had a small lunch break where everyone talked, played games, and had a lot of fun! We spent our time playing Uno and laughing every time someone added a +4 card. We could smell the salty, sunscreen-scented air filling our lungs until that was all we could smell. Next up on the list was surfing! After getting a demonstration on how to surf safely, we headed down to the area where we would be riding the waves! The wind blew against our hair as the sand sprayed onto our skin. Our nerves were getting the best of us as we initially struggled to stand, but eventually, we had a go and finally stood up! After a tiring session of surfing, we moved on to our next activity, which in this case was boogie boarding! Smiles lit up our faces as this was something most of us were familiar with. On your marks, get set, go! Everyone raced toward the horizon, trying to reach the ocean first. It DEFINITELY wasn’t us, but we were close enough! Boogie boarding was a blast until we had to walk back shivering… Overall, the day was electrifying, and I would absolutely do it again if I could! I think everyone, including me, is looking forward to the next MBS day!! But I simply don’t think anything can top this one!! – Ishika S and Christina H
As Year 8 come to the end of their Middle School journey, and after completing their final assessment block this week, they will have the privilege of coming together as a year group next Thursday to enjoy a day at Luna Park – a new initiative that is very well deserved. The focus will be on independence, having fun, and being inclusive. This event is something that the girls are really excited about, and it promises to be a lovely farewell celebration as they prepare to step up to Upper School in 2026. Please ensure you have completed the permission form for your daughter to attend.
On Friday 21November we will be holding our traditional Christmas Chapel Service for Year 7. Invitations have been sent to parents, and we look forward to welcoming families back to chapel for this student-led celebration. Remembering that families joined us in Chapel on the first day of Year 7, this event bookends their entry year into Middle School. Afternoon tea will follow, providing a chance for parents to catch up and reflect on shared experiences.
Congratulations and good luck to the following girls who have progressed through to the UN Voice of Youth, State Semi-Finals to be held this Saturday.
Junior division: Aaira Khan and Arabella Hoang of Year 8.
From the Boarding School
Our beautiful Boarding Houses were ready for some Halloween action on October 31, and it was a joy to welcome some of our youngest Pymble students for a delightful round of trick or treating.
Our Boarders joined in the festivities as well, and we are especially grateful to the Waterhouse family who are fully aware that our Boarders often miss out on traditional trick or treating. They, once again, went above and beyond by providing a beautifully packaged bundle of treats to every single Boarder. While the costumes and treats are always a highlight, what truly made Halloween special was the incredible thoughtfulness, generosity, and kindness of our Pymble community. Thank you!
A delicious afternoon
In what has become a much-anticipated annual tradition, last Friday we took a group of our Baking Boarders to Maggio’s at North Ryde. It is always a totally delicious and enjoyable afternoon, one that the girls truly love and look forward to each year. For me, however, the true highlight is listening to the owner and founder, Andrew Maggio, share his inspiring story of how he and his brother began the business with their mother baking out the back, and how that humble beginning has grown into a thriving business employing more than 100 staff. Andrew’s story is a great lesson in the power of dedication, hard work, and a commitment to giving back – a fantastic, real-world lesson for our Boarders!
Lang Room Draw
On Wednesday evening, we held our much anticipated room draw for Lang House. This is always an exciting but sometimes nerve-racking evening where the girls choose their rooms for the remainder of their time at Pymble. It was great to see ‘wins’ all round with all of the girls pleased to have a lovely room to reside in for the coming 12 months. We are now all looking forward to the big move and Housewarming next week. Stay tuned!
Avonmoore take 2
Last Sunday night, our current Year 8 Boarders returned to Avonmoore to reminisce about their happy times there. With s’mores and sport, they reflected on their first year at Pymble, and their journey towards Year 9 in 2026. It was lovely to see the interactions between the current Year 7s and their ‘big’ sisters as they reflected on the growth for both groups this year.
Love It, Ms Theresa Mimmo , Deputy Director of Boarding
Our Year 9-11 Boarders were invited to share Halloween at Abbotsleigh with other Boarders for a social event. Their creativity shone through in their costumes, and the night was spent dancing and socialising. Year 7 headed to Balmoral Beach for their beach picnic, enjoying a warmish night by the water. On Saturday, with the weather turning, we changed our activity to see a movie at Macquarie Centre called Kangaroo. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon and relax after a busy week. Sunday was a trip to a foodies market in the city called Hay St Market. With various foods on offer to view and sample, our Boarders were left very happy.
View From My Window
Hi, my name is Jocelyn, and I live in Orange, which is located four hours west of Sydney. My house is on the edge of town on a small property where I live with my mum, dad, and my two brothers, Hamish and Paddy. We have lots of animals, my dog Jimmy, our cats Coco and Pearl, my brother’s birds that he breeds, and my dad’s nine chickens. We also have some bee hives, where my dad harvests honey for our family and friends. Orange is known for its amazing food and wine, as well as its cold winters, where the lowest temp this year was -7°C, and it usually snows each winter.
When I look out my window, I see tall gum trees and a wide view overlooking town and Mount Canobolas. In winter, I can sometimes see snow covering the mountain, and in summer the sunsets light up the sky in bright shades of yellow, orange, and pink.
I love going home to see my family and friends, and something I always look forward to is going camping with my family on a friend’s property located in Rosberg, which is about two hours south of Orange, and this is usually when I bring my day-girl friends home to show them where I come from – I especially love teaching them things that you can’t do in the city like how to ride motorbikes.
Even though I love going home, I also love coming back to boarding. It’s always exciting to see all my boarding sisters and school friends again, and to start back at athletics training with my coaches and training group. The boarding staff make it feel like a second home, and it’s nice to know there’s always someone to talk to or have a laugh with after a long day.
Boarder of the Week
As our Head of Goodlet House, Kate Inglis writes, Allegra (Aggie) is a much-loved member of our Boarding community. With her active presence in community activities, her friendliness toward peers across Goodlet House, and her natural ‘big sister’ spirit, Aggie truly embodies the heart of Boarding life. Joining the Boarding community from Crackenback in 2023, Aggie has embraced every opportunity that has come her way. She is driven, passionate, and a talented rower who balances her academic pursuits, leadership commitments, and love of all things Boarding with grace and determination. Between rowing seasons, Aggie shines on the snowfields, competing at the National Championships in Mount Buller last term alongside her sister, Siri. She is also a familiar face across the Boarding houses, strengthening friendships both within her year group and with younger Boarders in Avonmoore. We thank Aggie for her ongoing contribution to our Boarding community – a well-deserved Boarder of the Week!

A message from Victoria Harrison, Head of Upper School
Last Friday, it was my turn to step into the courage zone when I had the privilege of joining the VV04 students for a canyoning and abseiling day in the Blue Mountains. The last time I took on the challenge of abseiling was back in Year 10, so it certainly required a little more courage than a usual day at work!
It was an incredible day, and I am so grateful to have shared the experience with a group of Year 9 adventurers who embraced each challenge with good humour and great spirit. This is a wonderful component of the residential program during the warmer months and an excellent way for the girls to be stretched physically and mentally in a truly beautiful environment.
The Vision Valley students are now either midway through their final expedition or preparing for their solo experience next week, marking the final stages of their Vision Valley journey.
Well done to Year 10 students who have now completed their exams and are taking on feedback while looking ahead to the exciting opportunities that mark their final weeks of the year. It was wonderful to see the girls celebrating the end of exam week with energy and enthusiasm, enjoying the pool inflatable setup, Just Dance, volleyball, badminton, and the gymnastics area.
Police Liaison Presentation – Domestic and Family Violence
Students recently took part in a NSW Police presentation as part of Operation Amarok, which focuses on preventing domestic and family violence, and raising awareness about coercive control. The session helped students recognise early signs of controlling behaviour, understand healthy relationships, and learn how to seek help or support others. Talks like these empower young people to make safe, respectful choices, and foster a culture of care within our community. Students were reminded about the appropriate support lines such as 1800 Respect and the Empower You app which a useful tool to report domestic violence or coercive control behaviours.
A reminder to all that next week is the Jacaranda Assembly, a special event in the school calendar. All students, including Boarders, are expected to wear their summer hat and take pride in their uniform, as they should every day.
Student Shoutouts
Alexa Kong – Equestrian
Last weekend I competed at the Stonewall Oaks Sport Horse Young Horse show Road to Brisbane. I was in the Junior division competing at 95cms on my horse Wizard. In a highly competitive field with numerous riders from all over the country I placed 1st overall champion. This competition has been a huge goal for me to attend as its significant to being a pathway for the Brisbane 2032 Summer Olympics.
Sydney FC Debutant – Willa Pearson
Last weekend, Willa Pearson made her debut for Sydney FC in the Ninja A-League Football competition. Willa is the youngest debutant for the club, impressively playing the full 90 minutes in her first match. Sydney FC was captained by Sarah Hunter, a Pymble alumni. It is wonderful to see Willa achieving her dreams and connecting with other talented students. Both Sarah and Willa have benefited from the Pymble Elite Sportswomen’s Program (PESP), which supports student athletes in balancing elite sport and academic studies, providing mentoring and specialist support. We look forward to supporting Willa throughout the season as she pursues both her football ambitions and her representative cricket commitments. The entire community shares immense pride in her achievements.
ASX Ringing of the Bell Ceremony
On Friday, I had the privilege of attending the ASX Ringing of the Bell Ceremony in Sydney, an event dedicated to celebrating financial literacy. The ceremony recognised students who had participated in the ASX Sharemarket Game, which is a program that simulates real-world trading using virtual cash.
The event offered valuable insight into Australia’s financial markets and allowed me to witness the official opening of the trading day at ASX. Listening to industry experts share their perspectives helped to deepen my understanding of how financial markets operate, the growing influence of artificial intelligence on the industry, and what a future career in finance may entail.
A highlight of the day was meeting with other students who share similar interests to me. I was inspired by their passion, dedication, and incredible knowledge of investments and brokerage (a term I learnt on the day).
Overall, the ASX Ringing of the Bell Ceremony was an enjoyable and interesting experience that strengthened my appreciation for financial literacy, and encouraged me to continue developing my knowledge in the field. I am honoured to have had such a wonderful opportunity!
Sydney Science Park STEM Challenge
Stage 5 Geography and Future Problem Solving students participated in the Sydney Science Park STEM Challenge Day in October. The SSP STEM Schools Challenge was established as an initiative to engage schools in real-world, project-based learning. Through collaborative efforts between students, teachers, and industry experts, the ‘Challenge’ encourages participants to develop innovative ideas aimed at improving urban living environments. Many different schools from various areas of Sydney participated in the event. Unlike most events of this style, we didn’t compete as schools – we were randomly assigned into groups with people who we had never met before. We were given a ‘Persona’ to be the base of our solution to concerns about the Sydney Science Park, which culminated in a 2-minute pitch to industry experts at the end of the day. Teams with Pymble students received 1st and 3rd places, which was a great achievement. Throughout the day, students engaged with new people, while applying their critical thinking and decision-making skills, and developing their interpersonal skills. Katherine Xu (Year 9)

Celebrating Our Year 12 Graduates
As the final HSC examination concludes with Food Technology at 5.00 pm on Friday, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Year 12 students on completing their HSC journey. This milestone marks the culmination of years of dedication, hard work and personal growth.
Throughout the examination period, our students have demonstrated exceptional commitment, diligence and composure. Their calm and focused approach, even in the most challenging moments, has been admirable. We are incredibly proud of the way they have represented themselves and our College community.
As they prepare to take their next steps beyond school, we wish them every success and happiness. Whether their paths lead to further study, work, travel or new adventures, we know they will continue to carry forward the values of care, courage, integrity, respect and responsibility.
To mark this important milestone, we look forward to welcoming our graduates back on Friday, 19 December for the Grad-u-bration. This is a special morning tea celebrating the completion of their HSC exams, the achievement of their results, and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. All graduates from the Class of 2025 are warmly invited to attend. Members of the Futures and Curriculum Team will also be available to offer support, guidance and advice for students as they take their next steps beyond school.
Introducing Our 2026 Year 12 Leadership Team
We are also delighted to congratulate our newly appointed Year 12 (2026) Leadership Team. The group recently participated in a dynamic Leadership Training Day designed to build teamwork, communication and initiative. The day provided valuable opportunities for reflection, collaboration and the development of practical leadership skills.
The enthusiasm and sense of purpose shown by this group is inspiring. As they step into their new roles, we look forward to seeing their leadership grow and positively shape the year ahead. With their energy, integrity and vision, the future looks bright for the Class of 2026.
House Supports Sony Camp!
It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and generosity of our students at this week’s House event in support of Sony Camp. The atmosphere was full of fun and community spirit, with a range of activities on offer, a delicious bake sale hosted by the Sony team. Those who arrived early were rewarded with the tastiest treats before the tables quickly emptied!
Our Senior School students were on hand throughout the event, raising funds for this year’s Sony Camp, which will take place in December. The Camp provides valuable respite for families of children with disabilities, while offering a life-changing experience for the students who serve as companions.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and supported this wonderful cause. Your contribution helps make a real difference in the lives of children and families in our wider community.

Sport Awards Dinner 2025
On Friday 7 November, the College will honour the achievements of our talented and dedicated sportswomen in Years 7 to 12 who have achieved great success and demonstrated outstanding commitment to their sports throughout 2025.
On the night, students who participate in competitive sports will be recognised through several awards including Athlete of the Year, All Rounder of the Year, igsa Team of the Year, Representative Team of the Year, Strive for the Highest Awards, Sports Officials of the Year, Australian Representatives, Para Athlete of the Year, and Sportswoman of the Year.
Students and teams are nominated for these awards by the Sports Co-ordinators and Head Coaches, and are then finalised by a committee. The dinner will celebrate the achievements of our students and teams, and give due regard to the College values which these awardees exemplify. Awards are a way to encourage good performance and instil competitive spirit. Sport at Pymble provides a platform for girls to be challenged, achieve and grow, and this awards dinner is designed to recognise those who compete at the highest level in their chosen disciplines.
Also, we acknowledge that not all girls who show excellence and commitment to their sport can be recognised at the awards evening – there are simply too many students who represent the College in sport. For those girls who are not receiving an award at the dinner, we recognise and acknowledge your contribution to Pymble and encourage you to continue to strive for your highest in your chosen sport.
I would also like to extend special thanks to our College Principal, Dr Hadwen, and the College Council for supporting our exceptional Sport program, and to all the parents/carers who support their daughters in their varied sporting pursuits.

What do you want for Christmas?
Have you started thinking about what you want for Christmas yet?
As a small child, you might have been encouraged to write a letter to Santa. This year I want to encourage you to do the same, but with a bit of a twist.
I want you to write a Christmas letter to yourself.
Dear Me…
In the letter I want you to think about the gifts that you NEED from an EMOTIONAL perspectivethis Christmas, rather than the gifts you want that you can buy from a shop.
This Christmas I need…
What is making you feel sad at the moment? What is something that might help you to you feel better?
What would be helpful to learn that you are struggling with, or that might help you achieve something you want to be able to do?
What are you scared of right now? Perhaps you are scared to do something that you admire others for doing? Perhaps there is an event or activity coming up in your calendar that is causing you some anxiety. Who or what could give you some courage?
Add these things to your letter. To your Christmas list to yourself.
How might you give these gifts to yourself?
And so I am going to…
Add these things to your letter too. These are your gifts for you.
Now that you know what you need this Christmas and how you are going to try to give these things to yourself, think about the things that the people you love need in the same way and add these things to your letter.
This Christmas the people I love need…
Where do you see your family and friends struggling?
Can you make dinner for your family?
Do you need to spend some time with a friend that you haven’t seen for a while?
What is something you can give as a gift to someone else that could help fill their metaphorical cup of hope, peace, joy and love this Christmas?
And so I am going to…
Add how you can addhelp to your letter. These are your gifts for the people that you love.
The gifts received by the Holy Family at the first Christmas, were these types of gifts.
Friendship,Love, Comfort,Care,Kindness.
Respect for difference.
Courage to enter spaces that were unfamiliar and unknown to be there for someone in need.
A community to of support and help when things were hard.
The last thing that I am going to invite you to do is to think about how where there are people beyond you and your family and friends who need support and think about how you might help them too.
This Christmas the gift I can give to those in need is…
Perhaps you can bring in an extra gift for Pymble’s Jacaranda Day Collection for the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation? Suggestions for gifts are below. You can drop them off at Hedgehog house, and the Middle, Upper and Senior School Offices.
Perhaps you can volunteer with a Charity or Community Service that needs support?
There are so many things you can do and it is really important that you do give these gifts, because once upon a time the people that you serve, that you don’t know, was the Holy Family. If it wasn’t for those that supported them during and after the birth of Jesus there may not have ever been a first Christmas for us to remember and celebrate in quite the same way.
When you are done with your letter sign it, and put it somewhere to read again and again over the next few weeks. May your letter be your prayer for you, for your family and for the world this Christmas.
Dear Me, This Christmas I am going to give the gifts of hope, peace, joy and love to myself, to the ones I love, and to people that I don’t know, but need it the most. Much love, the one and only (wonderful and uniquely extraordinary in my own way) ME xxx

Aerial Circus
Aerial Circus Students Soar at Newcastle Regional Competition
During the October school holidays, a dedicated group of our competitive aerial circus students travelled to Newcastle to take part in the Bend The Air Newcastle Regional competition. This event brought together talented performers from across the state, and our Pymble girls truly sparkled.
I am delighted to share that every one of our athletes – Aaliyah Khanche (Year 8), Bethany Tucker (Year 7), Julia Farcash (Year 11) and Sophie Ahn (Year 7) – achieved exceptional scores, with all girls receiving marks above 90 out of 100. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and resilience throughout the year. Aerialists who returned for a second year were particularly impressive, each improving on their previous scores and demonstrating how much skill and confidence they have built since their first competition experiences.
Our girls presented beautifully developed routines, each one unique in its theme and artistry. What sets these performances apart is that every routine was student-developed, showcasing not just physical strength and technique, but also the imagination and creative spirit that define our circus program. Behind each performance lies a story of persistence, as the girls navigated challenges and setbacks in their training, only to emerge stronger and even more determined.
It is a privilege to witness their transformation and growth – in both their personal confidence and their camaraderie as a team. As their coach, I could not be prouder of what they have achieved and the standard they have set for themselves and others.
Congratulations to Aaliyah, Bethany, Julia and Sophie for representing Pymble with such grace, passion, and excellence. Our community has every reason to be proud of these remarkable young athletes.

Round 3
Round 3 of the 2025 Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball Competition took place this past Saturday. Our students had to battle the wet conditions, but we were able to get in all six of our games, with Pymble 6 having a bye week.
Our Year 7s (Pymble 7) had another impressive 3 to 0 win, which keeps them undefeated and on top of their ladder.
Pymble 5, our Year 8 Division 1 team, claimed another 3 to 0 win versus St. Scholastica, which also keeps them undefeated and on top of their ladder.
Pymble 4’s game was a back and forth match up against Loreto Kirribilli. Unfortunately, the deciding set just got away from our girls, but they can hold their heads up high for their efforts throughout the match.
Pymble 3, in a similar game to Pymble 4, losing by 2 sets to 1. The overall point score was 58/47, which meant there was only an 11-point difference over the three sets. It was amazing to see how reflective the girls were after their match and what they felt they needed to work on in training for the week ahead.
Pymble 2 had a comeback for the ages. Losing the first set by double digits, they didn’t let this deter them and they came back to win the next two sets, for a 2 to 1 win.

Senior First Match Report by Volleyball Captain, Olivia Ayton
Our comprehensive training sessions and refinement of team strategy were clearly reflected in this week’s game against Rosebank. We gave them no opportunity to take the lead, quickly gaining momentum with a succession of serving aces and winning the first set 25 to 0. Our opponents remained undeterred, however, featuring many more riveting plays and sustained rallies in the second set that attested to both teams’ tenacity. We secured the second set 25 to 14 our way, though a sudden deluge at the beginning of the third set presented some difficulty. Despite the reduced visibility and mud-slicked court, we maintained our composure and emerged victorious. Our movement to the ball and communication between teammates, which had been consistently targeted in past training sessions, proved decisive in securing our three-set victory. We will strive to uphold this level of performance and team cohesion in the weeks to come.
A huge well done to Year 9 student, Angela Bai, who stepped up after her Pymble 2 match to make her debut for the Senior Firsts.
