Aerial Circus Students Soar at Newcastle Regional Competition

During the October school holidays, a dedicated group of our competitive aerial circus students travelled to Newcastle to take part in the Bend The Air Newcastle Regional competition. This event brought together talented performers from across the state, and our Pymble girls truly sparkled.

I am delighted to share that every one of our athletes – Aaliyah Khanche (Year 8), Bethany Tucker (Year 7), Julia Farcash (Year 11) and Sophie Ahn (Year 7) – achieved exceptional scores, with all girls receiving marks above 90 out of 100. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and resilience throughout the year. Aerialists who returned for a second year were particularly impressive, each improving on their previous scores and demonstrating how much skill and confidence they have built since their first competition experiences.

Our girls presented beautifully developed routines, each one unique in its theme and artistry. What sets these performances apart is that every routine was student-developed, showcasing not just physical strength and technique, but also the imagination and creative spirit that define our circus program. Behind each performance lies a story of persistence, as the girls navigated challenges and setbacks in their training, only to emerge stronger and even more determined.

It is a privilege to witness their transformation and growth – in both their personal confidence and their camaraderie as a team. As their coach, I could not be prouder of what they have achieved and the standard they have set for themselves and others.

Congratulations to Aaliyah, Bethany, Julia and Sophie for representing Pymble with such grace, passion, and excellence. Our community has every reason to be proud of these remarkable young athletes.
