Camp Thredbo 2025 – A Week in the Life of an Elite Swimmer
Our competitive swimmers recently returned from an inspiring week at Camp Thredbo. With 16 Pymble girls attending, the week was filled with learning, laughter, and growth as athletes explored topics such as periodisation, energy systems, mindset, recovery, and the effects of altitude on performance. Training at 1,370m above sea level provided a unique challenge, building both physical resilience and mental toughness. Daily swim sessions, mindfulness practices, and mobility work ensured swimmers not only developed as athletes but also as mindful, grounded individuals.
Beyond the pool, team-building activities brought plenty of fun and connection, from trivia and skit nights to The Amazing Race: Thredbo Edition. Swimmers reflected deeply on their journeys, celebrating personal growth and gratitude. Huge thanks to Boali Lodge for their hospitality, and to coaches Jarrod, Raf and Leanne, and Jaimi, our Aquatics Co-ordinator, for their leadership and organisation. Camp Thredbo truly embodied “a week in the life of a performance swimmer” setting the stage for exciting racing and continued success back at sea level.
