From the Chaplains
A Blessing for the beginning of Spring

May the sweet smell of pollen and buzzing of bees
Not cause you to cough and splutter and sneeze
May the gentle warmth of the early sun,
Help you to balance your study and fun,

May the new leaves un-folding high in the trees
Help you prioritise tasks with ease,
May the lengthening days and receding nights,
Give you the courage to reach for great heights,

May the call of the birds high in the air
Cause you to wonder as you stop and stare,
May the gentle warm breeze that dances and plays
Inspire compassion that stretches for days
May the baby magpies that squark with greed
Help you to reach out to those in need
May the tiny-small flowers beneath your feet
Remind you of those who have little to eat,

May the memories of fire, and droughts and rain
Help you to re-use, recycle and reclaim,
May the budding bushes that dazzle with flower,
Fill you with kindness in each moment, each hour,

May you step into spring and all that it brings
Knowing God’s love is in you and all things.
Amen
