Today is R U OK? Day, with students across the College encouraged to “Stay cool and have a chat” over a Zooper Dooper in the Junior School or “Enjoy a Kit Kat and have a chit chat” in the Secondary School. Our Year 12 Wellbeing Prefects Emily Rothery and Alex Stansell, along with their Wellbeing Leadership team, also hosted a lunchtime event for students with mindfulness activities, friendly faces and good listeners to talk to, along with an opportunity to connect with our psychologists and counsellors in a relaxed environment.
If there’s one take-home message from R U OK? Day, it’s this:if you see something, say something.
There’s no right way to have a conversation about mental health. There’s no wrong way, either. The important thing is to simply start the conversation. Our Lead Psychologist, Mr Andrew Scott, offers the following advice for parents:
“Life is busy, so take a moment to slow things down by asking your daughter or son how they really are, right here, right now. Your aim is not to fix things but to be prepared to listen and understand. Don’t let the worry of saying the wrong thing stop you from trying. If anything you hear raises concerns, just call us, as we are always here to help.”
By “us” and “we”, Mr Scott is referring to Pymble’s Wellbeing team, including nine clinical psychologists who, as of next year, will work side-by-side with our five registered nurses in our new Wellbeing Centre in the Grey House Precinct. By co-locating our healthcare and psychology teams, we are intentionally creating a space where students can seek mental health support conveniently and discreetly, without worrying about any stigma associated with “going to the psychologists’ offices”. This will also allow for greater collaboration between the two teams, which is so important when treating co-existing physical and psychological health concerns.
Below is an artist’s impression of the welcoming space our girls will enjoy in just a few months. Our staff are super-keen to move into the GHP, too, as you can tell from this beautiful note sent to me by our Health Care Centre Manager, Mrs Lauren Green, following a recent site visit with the team:
“How incredibly grateful and fortunate we are! GHP is absolutely brilliant! We are so, so excited!😊”.
In other wellbeing news, we are delighted to welcome a dedicated Sports Dietitian to our Allied Health team from Term 4.
Our new Sports Dietitian will work closely with our Sports Medicine Physician, Dr Nicole Sly, two physiotherapists and our Health and Fitness Co-ordinator, Mr Jack Pennington, who also manages our athletes’ return to sport following injury. Available for onsite appointments, she will support students to build healthy nutritional habits that promote wellbeing and enhance performance.
By bringing these allied health professionals together onsite, we are making expert care more accessible for all and, most importantly, supporting the holistic health and wellbeing of our girls. This, above all else, is our aim for each student, every day at Pymble.
From the Junior School
A Message from Mrs Kate Brown, Head of Junior School
Congratulations to our Snowsport team
Huge congratulations to our Snowsport team who competed so fiercely and with such phenomenal success at the Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships recently. Junior School competitors were runners up on the overall point score.
We’re so proud of the team, their Pymble spirit, courage and passion for their sport and their national success.
Congratulations to our MANSW Mathematicians
Woohoo! Our Year 3 MANSW teams (3R and 3B), who completed an investigation into the distances around Australia based on their reading of Alison Lester’s Are we there yet? , won the MANSW competition this year. This is a huge achievement and reflects the girls’ dedication to Mathematics and their creative and articulate showcase of their understanding of the large numbers and distances they were calculating.
Congratulations to our two Year 5 teams Miranda Chen & Vivien Huang and Alyssa Ng, Euphemia Wang & Rachel Zhangwho were both awarded Highly Commended. This is a fiercely competitive program so achieving this level of success across Year 3 and Year 5 is impressive. We’re very proud of all our Mathematicians, their hard work and collaboration.
Year 5 Outdoor Education – Vision Valley
This week our intrepid Year 5s are immersed in a range of exciting and challenging activities at Vision Valley for their Outdoor Education Program. I had the privilege of being out there with the girls today. The girls have explored a variety of activities, including archery, abseiling, bushwalking, rock climbing and participated in team challenges and games.
We are proud of the way the girls have embraced their fears with courage and enthusiasm and the way in which they have supported one another throughout the camp experience as they step outside their normal routine and comfort zone. I am also very proud of the respect the girls have all shown to the Outdoor Education leaders and the teachers who accompanied them throughout the week. Year 5 are definitely stepping up ready to lead the Junior School in 2026 with grace and kindness.
BKinder Symposium
Kindness Captains from Pymble joined peers from seven schools across Sydney on 5 September at the B Kinder Schools Summit hosted in partnership with Illuminate Education Australia. The theme “How Can I Make Kindness Even Better?” encouraged students to explore leadership through kindness, compassion and social responsibility.
The day was filled with collaboration and creativity as students worked to design initiatives that could make a positive difference in their communities. Ideas included school-wide clean ups and community events, all demonstrating that even small actions can lead to meaningful change. Students reflected on how empathy and teamwork are at the heart of strong leadership and how their voices can inspire others.
IPSHA Social Action Expo
Last Thursday six Year 5 and 6 students attended the IPSHA Social Action Expo at St Ignatius Riverview. The annual event showcases school service and philanthropy initiatives, celebrating advocacy and inspiring students to take action and make a difference. The girls showcased the Pymble Kindness and Service initiatives through a gallery display, including making a 1-minute pitch which concluded a commitment:
Our social action plan isn’t a list of jobs to tick off – it’s a promise. We’re not waiting until we’re older to change the world; we’re doing it now! Every meal cooked, every bracelet beaded, every piece of rubbish picked up, every preloved game or book swapped – these aren’t small acts. They’re the seeds of a kindness movement.
A message from Martha Itzcovitz, Junior School Teacher Librarian 3-6
The girls were buzzing with excitement when Kate and Jol Temple visited this week to launch their hilarious new book Mega Rich Guinea Pigs! We are so lucky that they chose Pymble as the venue for the launch! Kate and Jol had us laughing out loud as they shared how the cheeky guinea pigs came to life and gave us a sneak peek into the wild adventures in the story. The girls loved hearing about their writing journey, what inspires them and how they develop their zany ideas.
It was very inspiring to hear about how they come up with ideas, and they made us all laugh – Euphemia Year 5
The moment I got the book signed I didn’t stop reading it until I finished it – Hailey Year 5
Kate and Jol gave us a profound insight into how children’s authors compose their books – Lucy Year 6
I loved it so much it felt like a dream! The book is so good and even my little brother loves it and he hates reading – Gloria Year 5
I liked learning about the different types of frogs in their book, and I like how funny they were and their big rubber duck! – Willouw Year 3
Funny, intelligent answers to our questions and made us all laugh like we’ve never laughed before – Zarah Year 4

School and Co-curricular Attendance
A reminder to families that regular full attendance at school is essential for all students. When a child is sick and unable to attend school, they are precluded from attending after school co-curricular activities. Should students have appointments during the school day, please ensure they are at school by 11.45am in order to attend co-curricular activities.
Walking Groups
Do you want to avoid the traffic in the morning? Consider dropping your daughter off at Grandview Street (near the train station) between 7.40am-7.55am or Grey House Walk 7.30am-7.45am. Junior School staff are at these locations between these times and walk students to school. This eases congestion with vehicles on Avon Road and within the College and allows students to undertake a little morning exercise.
College Coach Travel to and from School
The College operates five private bus services, open to students from Kindergarten:
· Hunters Hill – Bus Route 1
· Lower North Shore – Bus Route 2
· North West – Bus Route 3
· Northern Beaches – Bus Route 4 (this includes an early and late service in addition to the school hours service)
· Lower Northern Beaches – Bus Route 5
Parents can opt for a full-term or flexible registration for their child. The full-term option allows your child to travel on the bus unlimited times throughout the term, mornings and afternoons. Alternatively, they may select the flexible registration and select the travel days and times you require and will only be charged for the number of trips your child takes during the term. This will be added to your account at the end of term.
Many Junior School students use the private bus service as a convenient way to get to school and a fun way to catch up with their friends. They are met at the Pymble bus stop at Kelso by a Junior School staff member in the morning and if in Years K-2 are walked to the Junior School. All students are walked to the bus at 3.15pm in the afternoon, ensuing full accountability for who is on the bus.
To find out more about the bus service or to register, click here.
Minibus shuttle servicePymbleLoop
Did you know that we have a complimentary minibus shuttle service to assist families during the closure of Grey House Walk in Term 3 and Term 4?
This free minibus service is available to all students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The minibus stops at Courallie Avenue, Golfers Parade and Pymble Avenue. Many families have found it convenient to drop their daughter at one of these stops, knowing that they will make it to school safely and on time without getting caught up in traffic around the College campus. To book your daughter a seat on the minibus, click here.

From the Middle School
From the Head of Middle School Jenny O’Donnell
This week in Middle School we had a visit from Senior Constable Lynda Hart who works with Hornsby Police. She spoke to both Year 7 and 8 students about a number of topics relevant to their safety. Below is a reflection from Year 7 Communications Leaders: Sahana Shasidharan and Megan Ow.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Middle School cohort had the opportunity to engage in an important discussion about social media, focusing on how to prevent stressful situations online and what to do if they occur. We were fortunate to welcome a special guest, Senior Constable Lynda Hart, who delivered an impactful presentation on topics such as sextortion, blackmail, cyberbullying, exploitation and online harassment. In the process of her talk, we learned practical steps to take in these situations and identified the right people to turn to when something goes wrong online. Senior Constable Hart also reminded us that once something is shared online, it remains there permanently and encouraged us to think carefully before posting.
She introduced us to the GRANDMA strategy, which highlights the importance of considering whether a post is appropriate before sharing it with others. We also saw situations virtually, as we watched videos on these scenarios and how it can make a big impact with just one click of a button. These videos showed that with one post, social media will always find a way to bring it back, making it an important thing to think about what you’re going to post and what you do in social media.
We are thankful to Senior Constable Hart for sharing her time and knowledge, and for equipping our students with strategies to stay safe and make positive choices online.
Sahana Shasidharan (Year 7) & Megan Ow (Year 7)
Our Middle School collaborative weaving project is coming along very nicely. The girls involved are excited to now be at the stage where they can see what the finished product will look like. Working throughout the Term with the representatives from Speaking in Colour, has provided us all with an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of First Nations traditions. Below are some updated images to share.
Next week, Year 8 will be heading off to the Colo River for their 5-day Outdoor Education experience. Thank you to all the staff who have invested so much time to ensure the girls are well placed to get the most out of the opportunity. We will be meeting up at Kelso at 8.15am on Monday morning. If there are any late medical updates to share, please sent this directly to Somerset for inclusion.
Malalai Karimi of Year 8 was invited to speak at an event in Newcastle last weekend to share her passion for Afghanistan, women’s rights and the importance of freedom of choice. Below is an extract from a poem she shared as part of her presentation. Well done, Malalai.
“Never Comes”
The hope never comes, the scent of freedom, the smell of happiness, never comes.
Two hundred years in a war, I am exhausted from this world. Why does peace never come?
Why can’t we feel that freedom? Why us?
We have become selfish, greedy. We have forgotten the real us.
In the mountains of Panjshir, A voice raised, strong, unbreakable and fearless.
He guides us, teaches us: Fight for your rights, that right is not for giving.
Fight for hope, for the hope that will come.
Unity is the key we lost. Trust is the chain we broke.
When hands join, hearts open, the scent of freedom will finally come.
No more strangers over our land, No more turning against each other. Only us, standing side by side. Unbreakable, unbowed, waiting for the hope to come.
Message from Year 8 Coordinators
Join us for a delightful evening of connection and conversation at our Year 8 Group Mothers’ Drinks Party!
The Year 8 girls will be at Colo River next week. This is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with fellow mothers, share stories and build our community spirit.
We look forward to seeing you there for an evening of fun and friendship!

From the Upper School
A message from Victoria Harrison, Head of Upper School
In last week’s Combined Assembly, we focused on young women’s health, with guest speaker Vanessa Ferguson from Adora Fertility presenting alongside two passionate Year 9 students, Ariana and Tala. Both students are exploring women’s health education and the importance of building awareness from a young age.
Through the PDHPE curriculum, PESP initiatives such as Kamana, and the annual PPEP Talk® program attended by Year 10, our students are encouraged to be mindful of their own health and the wellbeing of those around them. Being proactive about health is an act of strength and a key part of becoming an empowered young woman.
It is essential that students establish awareness now, learning to advocate for themselves and form habits that will sustain their health and wellbeing into the future. Young women can sometimes dismiss small changes or brush off symptoms, but it is important to listen to their bodies and speak up early if something doesn’t feel right.
Key messages included:
paying attention to changes, no matter how small
recognising the importance of rest, nutrition and movement
seeking support from trusted adults or health professionals when needed
We encourage parents to talk with their daughters about health literacy, helping them trust their bodies and speak up when something feels wrong.
Thank you to Ariana for sharing her reflection:
Hi! I’m Ariana, and this year my partner Tala Gubera and I decided to start up a passion project. Our project specialises in women’s health, addressing the gap in education for teenage girls. As part of our project on women’s health education, we researched and focused on conditions like endometriosis and PCOS. Out of 22 Year 9 students asked in a mini-random survey, 16 had never heard of endometriosis, and the remaining six still didn’t know what it actually was. This shows just how rarely these important health issues are talked about. Did you know that severe period pain isn’t normal? Because women’s health has been historically under-researched, symptoms like these have been normalised, harming millions of women worldwide. Our goal is to make conditions like endometriosis a regular part of conversation, breaking down stigma and ensuring young people are informed rather than left in the dark, waiting decades for a diagnosis. We have been mentored by Dr Hadwen and more recently Vanessa Ferguson of Adora Fertility to help develop our project further, and to hopefully reach a larger audience.
We are publishing our current work in the school research journal: Perspective.
This week we came together to recognise R U OK? Day, a reminder for students to check in with their friends, classmates and teachers. Sometimes, asking “Are you okay?” and taking a moment to listen can make a big difference.
To make conversations a little easier (and sweeter!), students shared Kit Kats to have a Kit-Kat chat, because taking a break together is the perfect chance to talk.
Remember, you don’t need a special day to ask the question. Every day is a good day to reach out to support one another.
Student Achievements
Congratulation to our talented Upper School Fencers who competed at the Australian Fencing Circuit 1 in Melbourne last weekend. Lulu Hargraves placed 13th in theSenior Women’s Épée event and Rianne Leung placed 2nd in the in Melbourne. Both Rianne and Lulu have been selected in the Australian High Performance Fending Squad
Rianne has shared this reflection of her most recent competition.
Over the weekend, I competed at AFC#1 (Australian Fencing Circuit #1) to kick off the season. The event began with four pools of six and one pool of seven, everyone advances from pools to direct elimination, but the pool results determine your seeding. I was ranked third after pools and made my way to the finals and was unfortunately eliminated. Despite the loss, I’m happy to have finished second. More than the result itself, I’m really grateful for the opportunity to learn from my bouts and come back stronger. This is a great start to the season and I’m very excited for more to come.
2026 International Student Exchange Program
We are excited to launch the 2026 International Student Exchange Program, offering Upper School students a unique opportunity to broaden their horizons through cultural and educational experiences overseas.
An online information evening will be held at 6.00 pm on Wednesday, 17 September. This session is highly recommended as it will outline the program’s opportunities, responsibilities, and expectations, as well as the application process, required documents and key deadlines. Formal applications will open in Week 9.
For an overview of the program, please click here. Keep an eye out for a portal notice with the link to join the online event and please indicate your interest to attend on the attached form found here.

One Week to Garden Party
We’re excited about our annual Garden Party! The collection of bottles is steadily growing, but we are still waiting on contributions from many students. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our College service partners, and we need the help of our families to make it a success. If your daughter has not yet contributed, we would greatly appreciate your support in arranging this over the weekend.

From the Senior School
From the Head of Senior School – Mrs Nikki Wyse
It was fantastic to return to the KM today, after a short period of Long Service Leave. I would like to acknowledge Ms Patricia Gallardo and Mr Andy Heggie, who led the Senior School so well. Their care and dedication are sincerely appreciated.
Year 12
It is great to see the buzz in the atrium of girls working hard and collaborating as they consolidate their learnings from their recent HSC Trial examinations. This is a crucial time to review, refine and extend their understanding of key concepts and submit plenty of practice exam-type tasks for feedback. As always, maintaining routines and keeping to set goals builds strong progress.
Year 11 examinations
Year 11 students will finish their program of examinations this week. They are to be commended on their maturity and good sense over the past fortnight. The closing weeks of term will be spent in finalising course work and understanding the feedback from their examination results. It is important that the students maintain their focus and work ethic as they prepare for the beginning of Year 12 next term.
Showcase of talent
Over the past few weeks, we have been able to enjoy the skill, talent and sheer hand work of our Year 12 students, over a range of showcase events. Students of Design and Technology, Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, Textiles and Design, Music and English Extension 2 have showcased their work and we look forward to the upcoming exhibition of work from Aboriginal Studies. These students deserve our heartfelt congratulations for completing these major pieces of work and it is always such a joy to see their justifiable pride on display.
Garden Party
Students in Years 11 and 12 are asked to continue to support the Senior School projects for Garden Party. Year 11 students are donating items for a chocolate wheel and Year 12 students are selling raffle tickets. Students in both years are also requested to sign up for a duty shift on the day.
Many thanks to those students who have already made generous contributions. Funds raised at this year’s Garden Party will go to the Mahboba’s Promise and HerVillage Foundation.

From the Boarding School
We are always excited to offer a wonderful variety of fun activities for our Boarders, helping them make the most of their time here at Pymble. We’re equally committed to welcoming our Boarding families and making sure there are plenty of opportunities for you to be involved.
As a Boarding parent, you’re a valued member of our Boarding Parent Group (BPG). The BPG is a fantastic way to connect with other families and stay in the loop—providing support, sharing information, and helping foster our warm Boarding community. The BPG committee regularly meets with College leaders—our Principal, Deputy Principal, Director of Boarding, Heads of House, and key staff—to discuss the matters that mean most to our Boarders and their families.
We’d love to invite you to our Term 3 Boarder Parent Group meeting, which will be held on Friday 19 September—the evening before the Garden Party—starting at 2:00pm in Lang House. This is a wonderful chance to hear about the latest happenings in Boarding, and you’ll be finished in time to greet your daughter as she arrives home from school. If you have any items for the agenda, please send them through to boarding@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au. We’ll send out a copy of the agenda next week.
Throughout the year, the BPG organises functions for Boarding parents to gather together in relaxed and friendly social settings to meet other parents and Boarding staff. Our next social event will follow the BPG Meeting. After some last minute Garden Party preparations, come along and enjoy dinner with other Boarding parents at the Butcher’s Block in Wahroonga, then continue the fun with an evening of live music and dancing at the Warrawee Club. As all Boarders are required to join us for this special night, we hope our Boarding families will be part of the celebrations too!
If you’d like to join us for the early dinner at the Butcher’s Block, you can find all the details and book your tickets here: https://www.trybooking.com/DEDPW.
And if you’re planning to dance the night away with FABBA, please let Laurel know at boarding@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au.
I hope you can join us for what promises to be a fabulous night!
Celebrating Year 12 2025
In just a few short days we will be saying goodbye to our much loved Year 12 Boarders. We have all been busily preparing to ensure these girls have a wonderful send off. This year, we are excited to introduce a new tradition – because our Boarders begin their Pymble journey with a Chapel service, it feels fitting to celebrate all they have given to our community with a special final Boarders’ Chapel service.
We warmly invite you to join us for this special occasion on Thursday 25 September, from 5.15pm to 6.00pm. This will be a lovely opportunity for all Boarders to come together, say goodbye, and honour their Boarding sisters—and we would be delighted to have you there with us.
It was another busy weekend on campus with sport in full swing and our Boarders out and about and enjoying the sunshine. The coming weekend is also filled with opportunities for fun with the Year 7 to 9 Pool Party at Riverview a much anticipated event. Not to miss out, our older girls have their sights set on a shopping trip to Bondi and of course, there is plenty of fun onsite including Boarders Get Baking and an in-house games night.
Garden Party Ready!
Thank you to those of you who have already volunteered to help on the day and/or delivered items to the various Boarding Houses. We are keen to have as much local produce as possible – honey, jams, fruit, seeds, nuts, cotton, herbs, flowers, cakes and slices, etc. Any non-perishable items can be delivered directly to Marden House and we will make sure they are stored safely ready for Garden Party day. Fresh items can be brought directly to the produce stall on the day of the Garden Party.
Eat like a Boarder
We would love you to join us for dinner on Monday 13 October at 6.00pm following drop off of your daughter/s. This will be the ‘real’ experience, with you being able to enjoy the regular dinner service, just as the girls do each evening. All family members are welcome. If you would like to join us please rsvp to boarding@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au by Friday 3 October.
Love It Ms Theresa Mimmo, Deputy Director of Boarding
There was lots of activity over the weekend for our Boarders. Friday was a quiet night in the Houses with the common spaces being used well. After sport on Saturday afternoon a lot of Boarders travelled to Macquarie Centre for a delicious treat at YoChi. On Sunday, a group of Year 10s went to Bondi for a different shopping experience whilst our Years 7, 8 and 9 Boarders were taken to Riverview for a pool party to celebrate the start of Spring. Our Boarders have described their weekend for you:
Mataya and Stella Year 9described the Riverview Pool Party as social, exciting, entertaining, fun and unforgettable.
This weekend was full of fun outings! We headed to Macquarie Centre for a YoChi stop, where everyone enjoyed creating their own frozen yogurt masterpieces with plenty of toppings to choose from. The next day, we explored Bondi Junction on a shopping trip, giving everyone the chance to browse, shop, and enjoy a bit of retail therapy. Both outings were a great way to spend time together and enjoy some treats.
Annika, Year 10
On Saturday afternoon, we were able to go on a trip to YoChi at Macquarie Centre. We all enjoyed some frozen yoghurt together and were able to sneak in some shopping before we left. On Sunday, a few Year 10s headed to Westfield Bondi Junction for some shopping, which was a nice way to end the weekend.

View From My Window
Hi I’m Latiah, I’m a proud Gamilarray Woman from Dubbo NSW, a place which you probably know as the town with the zoo. I’m currently in Year 12, and my long adventure here started in 2021 when I joined as a Year 8 boarder. I was a bit quiet at first which is hard to believe if you know me now, but that phase only lasted about a week. I soon found my people that at first I called friends but now they’re the sisters I never got. I’ve grown up in Dubbo my whole life and it’s where my mum and brother live. We live in a cul de sac which makes it feel even more like home because my neighbours, who became my second family live less than a minute away. I also have the pleasure of living two minutes down the road from fellow Boarders, Grace, five minutes from Dezi and seven minutes from Sahara and Millie. It’s a big world but somehow we ended up in the same boarding school and that’s something I will be forever grateful for.
When I look out my window I see the obvious like the street lights, my mum’s car parked in the driveway and the oddly shaped bricked garden bed in the dead centre of the front lawn. But if I really look, I see my round street that holds memories of tree climbing, bike riding, BBQs, many birthdays, memories both the good along with the unconditional love that continues to flourish within my round street.
Going to boarding school was a decision that at the time felt easy and right but I soon came to realise it wouldn’t be all sunshine and rainbows and that I would miss my people back home, but somehow that felt more comforting than it being just perfect because I knew everyone surrounding me was in the same boat and that I really wasn’t alone. I got to know each and every one I live with and their stories that made them so unique. I got to watch how over the years we as a year group faced challenges but overcame them and how that brought us so much closer. I will forever cherish these moments where I got to truly understand the saying ‘family is not always blood’. Through my time as a Boarder, I learnt the ins and outs that had a way of teaching me life lessons I didn’t realise I needed until now as I’m finishing up. So here’s my top five tips:
1. Preparation: In winter, don’t forget to leave a jumper and shoes close by in case the fire alarm goes off at 1.00am. You’ll be cold.
2. Attention to detail: Check your pockets properly before doing your washing or you might find your airpods wet and not working.
3. Time management: Check the train times before you go out on leave so you’re not late.
4. Independence: Change your white pillowcases straight after fake tanning or they’ll stain
5. Communication: It’s better to talk to everyone than have regrets about not knowing them.
It was a journey and a half to say the least to get where I am today but truly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I do miss my family when I’m away from home but I’ve now learnt to appreciate their company a little more. I also miss watching the sunsets when I’m driving with my friends and how the lights at the lookout adds to our D&Ms but even in those times, I find myself missing my home away from home and the girls within it.
Boarder of the Week
Tilly joined us from Pokolbin in 2023 and has shown immense growth, taking every opportunity in her stride. She is our resident “yes” person in Goodlet House—always willing to volunteer, bring others together, assist staff, mentor her younger Boarding sisters, and be a friendly presence at Boarders Get Baking. Recently, Tilly lent her voice to the Pymbellas and generously gave up her weekend to tour ex-students—even after a 4.00am wake-up for sport at Frensham! She has inspired others with her resilience, care, empathy, and leadership in Boarding.Tilly’s gentle nature and big heart make everyone around her feel included, welcome, and valued. A very well-deserved Boarder of the Week!

Pymble Success at VEX V5 Robotics Competitions
Pymble Robotics Shines at Santa Sabina VEX V5 Tournament
Last Saturday 6 September, three of our VEX V5 teams represented Pymble Ladies’ College at the Santa Sabina tournament.
Team 65100A – Astronauts: Summer Makan (Year 8), Aliya Singh (Year 8), Vivian Tian (Year 8), Liz Park (Year 7)
Team 65100C – Pymble Potatoes: Renee Kong (Year 7), Michelle Ng (Year 7), Lexie Wang (Year 7), Angela Li (Year 7), Chloe Zheng (Year 7)
Team 65100N – Niminiminions: Lily Dao (Year 8), Jessica Franklin (Year 8), Ellie Lau (Year 8), Jing Yan Chung (Year 8), Athena Ng (Year 8)
From the very first match, our teams showed outstanding teamwork, focus and resilience. Students were fully engaged – driving, coaching, scouting, strategising and, perhaps most importantly, cheering each other on. Every match ended with celebrations, no matter the result, and when things didn’t go to plan, teammates were quick to offer encouragement and support.
One of the most memorable moments came when two Pymble teams were scheduled to play against each other. Unfortunately, one team was left to compete without an alliance partner. Despite being pinned and under pressure, they fought hard and scored points on their own. After the match, the Pymble team on the opposite side of the field immediately came over to congratulate and comfort them – a true display of sportsmanship and pride.
All three of our teams advanced to the playoffs, delivering impressive performances. Team 65100C, Pymble Potatoes, captained their alliance through tough finals matches and proudly earned the Finalist Award – a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and determination.
We would also like to thank all the volunteers and organisers who made this event possible. Their time, effort and dedication ensured that the day ran smoothly and provided an invaluable experience for all participants.
Congratulations to all our students on their achievements at Santa Sabina. Their passion, commitment and camaraderie made the day a memorable one for everyone involved.
Pymble Hosts Internal Robotics Tournament
On Saturday, Pymble Ladies’ College welcomed six of our FTC Robotics teams for a friendly in-house competition to prepare for the upcoming season.
Team Shark Sub: Leahara Wijesuriya, Ella Su, Celine Soo, Emma Popli, Madeleine King, Duola Lin
Over the past weeks, students have been working hard to develop their skills, refine their robots and build confidence ahead of the new game, Decode presented by RTX. This event gave them a chance to test their progress in a supportive and fun environment.
The tournament was designed and run by our dedicated mentors, who created a unique game especially for the day. The competition encouraged students to practice not only their technical skills, but also vital qualities such as collaboration, communication and adaptability.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with energy and enthusiasm as teams supported each other and celebrated every match. The focus was on working together and sharing in each other’s success, making the experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
The final matches saw Team Pymble Bees (Year 9) and Team Rice (Year 7) join forces in an alliance. Together, they achieved victory, with Pymble Bees leading as alliance captain. Every Pymble team demonstrated creativity, determination and spirit, and left the event ready to take on the exciting new FTC season.
We would also like to thank our mentors and other staff members for making this event possible. Their time, guidance and organisation gave our students an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow in a real competition setting.
Congratulations to all our FTC students on an outstanding start to the season.
Go Pymble Pride!

Representative Touch Football
A massive congratulations to our superstar Pymble Ladies’ College students who took on the best of the best at the recent NSW All Schools Touch Football competition and truly did us proud.
Tuesday 2 September – Year 7/8 Team Our phenomenal Year 7/8 Pymble team hit the field with fire in their hearts. Their teamwork and determination saw them glide into the semi-finals, bravely battling it out against Mount St Benedict in a tough match. While it wasn’t our day in the semis, this team earnt a place in the prestigious NSW All Schools State Finals, happening next week.
Wednesday 3 September – Year 9/10 Team Next up, our Year 9/10 Pymble squad jumped into a fiercely competitive pool. The tenacity, grit, and genuine Pymble sportsmanship were on full display as they faced some incredibly tough rivals. Although the semi-finals slipped just out of reach this time, the effort and energy this team brought to every match was nothing short of inspiring. You did us proud!
Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic two days of Touch Football.

Pymble Transport
Register now – Pymble Bus Service
A reminder to register your daughter for the Pymble bus service if you have not already done so. Registrations are essential, as we cannot guarantee a seat without a booking.
You can choose between a flexible registration, whereby you are only charged for the number of trips taken, or you can reserve a seat for your daughter for the full term.
Grey House Walk Closure – Alternative travel options
Grey House Walk remains closed during Term 3 and Term 4 to allow for the timely completion of Grey House Precinct. The College has introduced the following initiatives to support students who usually walk to school from Pymble Avenue via Grey House Walk.
Minibus Shuttle Service (Pymble Loop)
This shuttle travels down Livingstone Avenue and up Pymble Avenue via Courallie Avenue and Golfers Parade. This is a convenient way for parents to bypass traffic near the College on Pymble Avenue and Avon Road.
This supervised walking group is available for our Junior School students. It runs in the morning only, meeting from 7.30am at the entrance of Grey House Walk on Pymble Avenue, departing together at 7.45am. Register to join the walking group here.
Additional stops on our Hunters Hill Route (Bus 1)
The shuttle service is being supplemented by additional Pymble stops on our Hunters Hill route. These stops are free of charge during the closure of Grey House Walk. As seats are limited, bookings are essential to utilise this service and can be made here.
For further information on travelling to and from Pymble Ladies’ College, please contact College Services on (02) 9855 7447 or collegeservices@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au.

Garden Party 2025 – PPA BBQ Request for Volunteers
We are looking forward to our wonderful annual Garden Party on the 20th September. This is a fantastic school event bringing together thousands from our school community.
The PPA BBQ is a busy, exciting stall and we need volunteers to assist on the day. It is a wonderful way to meet other parents, while keeping busy preparing food, cooking and serving our wonderful school community.
The Garden Party is one of Pymble’s most beloved events on the school calendar, and the ever-popular Cake Stall remains a highlight for many visitors throughout the day. Its success depends entirely on the generosity and baking talents of our wonderful community.
How you can help:
Calling all bakers!
We are seeking delicious homemade treats to sell at the stall — whole cakes, tarts, cupcakes, biscuits, slices, jelly cups, or any sweet delights that can tempt our guests.
Join our friendly team!
We need enthusiastic volunteers to help staff the stall and share these delectable treats with visitors. Even an hour of your time would make a big difference!
Our stall caters to everyone — from those wanting a quick, energizing snack to those looking for a special cake, tart, or pie to take home.
Baked goods can be dropped off at the stall, located in the foyer of the Gillian Moore Centre for Performing Arts (GMCPA), from 7:30 am on Garden Party day.
All proceeds from the Cake Stall will be donated to the HerVillage Foundation and Mahboba’s Promise charities.
Please contact the Cake Stall Convenor for further information:
