Northern Schools Cup

Last Friday our Pymble Cricket team took on Abbotsleigh in Round 2 of the Northern Schools Cup. We won the toss and elected to bat. Notable mentions to the following girls who top scored: Harriet Gregory (Year 8), Chloë Lenane (Year 7), Arushi Singh (Year 8), and Miesha Gal (Year 8). After the 20 overs, Pymble finished with a defendable total of 60 runs.

Aaleyah Bookless (Year 8) and Chloë Lenane (Year 7) initiated the bowling attack for Pymble against a strong Abbotsleigh opening partnership. Both bowlers had the batters on the back foot resulting in our first wicket from Aaleyah with a clean middle stump dismissal.

Unfortunately, despite some solid bowling from Harriet Gregory (Year 8), Arushi Singh (Year 8) and Miesha Gal (Year 8) from that point onwards, Abbotsleigh were too strong with bat in hand. Reaching our total with nine overs to spare.

A big thank you to all girls for competing this term and an even bigger thank you to Annabel Taylor (Year 9) who played her first match ever! As well as our last-minute recruits Aarushi Singh (Year 8) and Japmehar Bhatia (Year 8) who performed exceptionally.
