Volleyball Week 6

Round 6 of the 2024 Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball Competition took place this past Saturday.

Our three senior teams went undefeated at Santa Sabina. Pymble 1’s result puts them into the grand final of the Senior 1st Division. A win against Schols in the final will see our Senior Firsts win the competition for a third year in a row. Pymble 3’s win keeps them top of the table in the Year 10 Division, and Pymble 2’s fantastic win against PLC Sydney puts them in third place in what is a strong division. Pymble 4’s win gives them a slight chance of winning the Junior 1st Division, but are needing results to go their way this coming Saturday. Pymble 5 still sit top of the ladder in their division, knowing a win will secure them the title. Pymble 6’s semi-final loss means they miss out on winning the Year 8 division, but still have a chance of finishing with a bronze medal. Despite a loss for Pymble 7, a win this coming Saturday could jump them as high as third.

Best of luck to all our teams for their last round of matches!

Senior Firsts report from our Volleyball Captain, Chloe Gu (Year 11)

This week, Pymble 1victoried over Danebank in the Senior Division 1 semifinals. The first set was easily won, with 25:8, however in the second set, our team was a bit complacent and only won the set with 25:19.

There was obvious improvement in our team’s performance, including our hustling. We have gotten used to the sun in these six weeks and serving was much more consistent. The passing was also better, and even if there were overpasses, our back court players managed to cover and keep them in play.

Finals against St. Scholastica College will be tough next week, since they have taken a set off us before and we are losing players, but if we continue to play like this week, I am sure we are able to get gold.
