School Sport Australia Swimming Championships

School Sport Australia held their Swimming Championships at Southport Aquatic Centre, Gold Coast, from Sunday 28 to Wednesday 31 July. Tuesday was dedicated to team bonding for the swimmers, and sunny Queensland did not disappoint with the weather!

Pymble had three athletes competing: Lily Barlow (Year 11), Megan Chia (Year 8), and Sarah Tian (Year 10). They represented the NSW team against other states across Australia, along with competitors from the Cook Islands and Fiji, adding an international flavour to the competition. Heats were held in the morning, with finals in the afternoon.

6th Girls 17 to 19 Years 400m Freestyle

Participated in the Girls 13 to 19 Years 6x50m Handicap Relay

Megan Chia (Year 8)

2nd Girls 14 Years 100m Freestyle

3rd Girls 13 to 14 Years 200m Freestyle Relay 4x50m

4th Girls 13 to 19 Years Freestyle Relay 4x100m

Sarah Tian (Year 10)

2nd Girls 16 Years 100m Backstroke

3rd Girls 15 to 16 Years 200m Backstroke

4th Girls 16 Years 50m Backstroke

All swimmers did an outstanding job representing their state and school in a highly competitive setting. It was a fantastic week filled with great memories and impressive performances. A big thank you to the parents for their support and to the school providing the opportunity for our girls to attend this successful meet.
