Our AFL grand finals were impacted by the rain over the weekend. Unfortunately, our Pymble 5 team were unable to play their match against PLC Sydney due to ground closures. Our mighty Pymble 6 team’s Lightning Carnival was also cancelled.
The shining light for the weekend was our Pymble 3 team who managed to get on the all-weather surface at Narrabean Sports High. Taking on a determined Loreto, our players were dominant from the start, kicking five goals in the first quarter. They continued this dominance throughout the match, despite a late fight back from the opposition. The full-time score ended at 55 to 2 resulting in a premiership victory for our team. A huge shout out to Madison Gabila (Year 8) who kicked seven goals and was subsequently awarded player of the match.
Pymble 3 will now progress to the Junior Schools Cup State Final. As this is a year-long pathway competition involving public, Catholic and independent schools, the state final will take place in Term 4 (Tuesday 29 October) at Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex, Tuggerah.
An amazing achievement, well done!
