Talk Money Workshop
This term, Year 8.1 and 8.4 students participated in two engaging ‘Talk Money’ workshops facilitated by the Ecstra Foundation, where they acquired essential skills for building financial independence. In Workshop A, students engaged in discussions about saving, spending, and various payment options. They learned how to align their spending choices with their goals, values, and beliefs, emphasising the importance of thoughtful financial decision-making. In Workshop B, students explored different approaches to making money, understanding employee rights, and navigating difficult conversations at work. Students gained valuable insights into their work rights and learned strategies for effectively entering the workforce.
Through these interactive workshops, students recognised the significance of managing and saving money for their future, as well as the importance of knowing their work rights when starting paid employment for the first time.
