Academic Progress Awards Assembly for Stage 4 & 5

Congratulations to all award recipients presented with Academic Progress or Academic Merit Awards on Monday this week. I also want to express my sincere gratitude for the performances of our vocal ensemble, Coro Dolce and our Year 9 Elective Music ensemble. It was wonderful to see our Performing Arts shine.

I have included an extract from my address to the assembly:

Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Years 7 to 10 students. Many have demonstrated excellence and perseverance across all courses. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of these students and encourage everyone to maintain their dedication as we enter Semester Two.

Recognising and celebrating accomplishments is integral to our Marist community. By acknowledging the contributions of others, we enrich the quality of our collective learning experience.

In the spirit of the Marist tradition, let us draw inspiration from Mary—a woman of courage, fortitude, and unwavering faith. Her example teaches us to persist even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. We, too, are part of a greater plan, and our commitment to learning contributes to our personal growth and the wellbeing of our College community. As we reflect on Semester One, take pride in your achievements. Today’s celebration includes a sense of satisfaction—a reminder of our shared journey. Now, looking ahead to Semester Two, I encourage you to embrace challenges within the classroom. Revisit your My Marist Compass goals, showcase your unique gifts, and always strive for excellence.
