Raising the Bar: CSDA Public Speaking Round 1
Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending Round 1 of the CSDA Public Speaking competition at Marist College Eastwood. It was a remarkable evening, showcasing the incredible talent, wit, and confidence of our student speakers: SarahJane Foley (Yr 7), Ahana Minocha (Yr 8), Phoebe O’Connor (Yr 9), Amber Cotter (Yr 10), Angelina Severino (Yr 11) and Sophie Murphy (Yr 11).
The level of competition was high, but our students rose to the challenge with exceptional poise. To all our participants: thank you for representing the College with such distinction. You’ve made us incredibly proud.
I am thrilled to announce that Sophie and Ahana have both been selected to move on to the Zone Finals this week!
Congratulations to Sophie and Ahana on this well-deserved achievement. Your ability to engage an audience and articulate complex ideas is truly impressive.
Traffic Flow and Parking on Woolwich Road
To ensure the safety of our students and maintain positive relationships with our neighbours, please keep the following in mind:
-
Neighbourly Parking: Students and parents must ensure they do not block residents’ driveways when parking in surrounding streets.
-
School Zones & Speed: Please strictly adhere to speed restrictions on Woolwich Road. These regulations are essential for the protection of our entire school community.
- U-Turn Restriction: For the safety of all pedestrians and motorists, U-turns are strictly prohibited directly outside the College. Please proceed to a safe intersection to turn around.
-
Pedestrian Safety: Students must use the designated traffic light crossing at all times when crossing Woolwich Road.
-
Drop-off/Pick-up Zones: Please do not park or leave your vehicle unattended in these marked zones during peak times.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our roads safe and our neighbours respected.
