Marcellin Week
Marcellin Week
Week 6 provided the Marcellin House time to celebrate the founder of the Marist Brothers and the Patron of our House, St. Marcellin Champagnat, whose feast day is 6th June.
Marcellin was an educator who had a passion for teaching young disadvantaged people in France. It was through his community of brothers that many people around the world have received an education.
The Marcellin House celebrated by raising money for Australian Marist Solidarity which focuses on projects to support locally sustained educational opportunities for young people in the Asia and Pacific regions. Over $800 was raised through lolly bags, bake sale and a spin-the-wheel game. More details of this organization can be found at: https://www.australianmaristsolidarity.org/
The highlight of the week was the Marcellin House Mass which was a wonderful celebration of the life of Marcellin Champagnat and gave the staff, students and parents the opportunity to catch up over supper. Thank you to all those who attended on that chilly June evening.
A special thanks to Charlotte, Amy and Olivia, our fabulous House Captains for all the preparation they did for the week and the other Marcellin girls who contributed lollies, cakes and their time to events. Great work girls!
