Year 8 Languages Activity Day

Bonjour! Nous nous appelons Annie et Ella,

Recently, Year 8 had a French Activity day that involved us in four activities which explored the lifestyle and aspects of the French culture.

First, there was a Mauritian cultural dance (sega) class, in which we watched and interacted with the performers, honouring the Mauritian culture and traditions. The dance class was exhilarating and fun, and Year 8 all enjoyed interacting in the activity. We also had the great opportunity to wear and dance in traditional costume. Year 8 also got to play traditional Mauritius instruments such as the ravann.

Next, we had the opportunity to order a crêpe in French, with a variety of authentic French flavours. They tasted délicieux and Year 8 all challenged themselves in trying to perfect the request for a crêpe in French.

After, we participated in Loto (French bingo) games where all numbers were called out in French. There was tension in the air as everyone competed to win the prize.

Last of all, we played French Trivia, where we learnt about French food, monuments and pop culture. Year 8 were surprised to discover that some of their favourite musicians, actors and cartoons were French.

All in all, the day was a wonderful experience that enriched all of Year 8 in the French culture.

Au Revoir!! ( Goodbye )
