Year 9

Year 9

During the Chapel service this week, our Year 9 Middle Years Leaders were given the opportunity to lead the service by reading the bible readings and prayers. Well done to Georgia Coxsedge, Veronica Pan, Estelle Davies, Soraya O’Connell, Anna Yin, Nikhita Kumar, Amy Doan, Katherine Woo, Madeleine Girgis and Bridget Cortis-Jones for speaking beautifully and leading the service with grace and maturity.

Congratulations to the all the Year 9 students who contributed work to Illuminate on Tuesday night. The talents of our students are remarkable. A special shout out to all the Year 9 students who were involved in building their House ‘Side Show Alley’ game.

Academic Care

During our Academic Care session on Wednesday, Marianna Carlino, Director of eLearning, presented to students on respectful relationships. Marianna guided students through a discussion about the characteristics of respectful, healthy relationships, both offline and online. Students were asked to discuss and respond to the following questions on Post-It notes, and then share their answers by placing their Post-It notes around the room:

  • How respectful do you think you are? Does this change depending on the nature of the relationship and who it’s with? Or perhaps who else is around?
  • Do you find how respectful you are changes depending on whether you are offline or online? How can you make sure that you are as respectful in online relationships as you are when face-to-face with the person?
  • What are some ways you show respect in your online and offline relationships?
