Year 9

Year 9

This week, Year 9 experienced the first week of their new timetable and the first week of their new classes. Some were thrilled; excited to be in new classes, starting their electives, working with new students and getting to know new teachers. Some were a little apprehensive; uncertain about the new and finding their way a little more cautiously. What has been great to see is that the cohort was being supportive of one another.

The cohort spent Monday’s Luminary session working to get themselves organised for the week ahead by reviewing their new timetables and planning out their term. On Thursday each group was provided with letter paper and envelopes and were tasked with writing a letter to their future selves. The letter was an opportunity to reflect on their experiences this year and to make goals and plans for the coming year. The letters will be opened at the end of Year 9 (and are now stored safely with me until that time).

Thank you to everyone in the cohort for being so diligent with their uniforms, it is so fantastic to see them all turn up looking so sharp.

All the best for the weekend ahead.
