Year 8
The time has come to go on Immersion! This week has been busy with students getting their final information for a wonderful week ahead. Important to note:
Students know which group they have been allocated to. They are to arrive and be seated in the Kent House playground by 7.15am on the day they are travelling to Mudgee and 7.50am for their Sydney immersion days.
As we are organising a large cohort of students, we please ask that parents and carers quickly say their goodbyes outside of the Kent House gates as we need to keep the area around Kent House clear for safety when loading and heading onto the buses.
The MLC School camp mobile numbers are:
-
- 0477 667 797 for Group 1
- 0400 636 426 for Group 2
These numbers are for emergencies only. If a parent needs to be contacted during the camp, it will be via these numbers. Please do not message this number for general check ins – teachers will be busy spending time with your daughters, face to face, for the duration of the camp.
Unlike primary school camps, you will not be updated regularly on your child via Seesaw or another similar platform. As per the camp communication guidelines outlined in the Code of Conduct you can expect; an app message on arrival, one – two social media posts (not all students may be featured), and an app message regarding return time to school once we have left the camp site.
As much as you might want to know that your child is alright, please do not allow them to take their phone or smartwatch or ask them to take these devices to camp.
Additionally, we request that students do not bring any valuables. We cannot guarantee that they won’t get lost.
In Mudgee, there are outdoor activities in the evening and it’s going to be cold! Ensure your child has thermal clothes, a very warm jacket and a beanie.

I hope that all students have a fabulous week and thoroughly enjoy themselves.
My picture this week is from the Cadet home training last week. I hope that all the new Year 8 cadets enjoyed their first week.
