Year 8
This week students in the Senior School honoured ANZAC Day with the MLC School ANZAC service. As always, it was impactful to see students from our school stand in honour of Old Girls who have served during times of conflict. Students from Year 8 were represented in the school band and I want to congratulate them on them on another exceptional musical accompaniment.
We hope the Online Safety Webinar with Marianna Carlino (Director of eLearning) helped you understand our school’s technology use. Marianna highlighted parents’ roles in guiding their daughters through the digital world. If you missed it, watch the recording here. Over the weekend, Year 8 students may ask you to review the Cyber Safety Pledge and Technology Use agreements with them.
During Luminary time on Tuesday, students were provided an academic preparation period to assist them in working towards the completion of upcoming assessment tasks. Their Luminaries shared with me that their focus and preparedness to support each other with quizzes, questions and proof reading was wonderful to see. Well done Year 8 on supporting each other during a busy academic session! As a reminder for all parents and students, there are a range of resources available through the Academic Care Canvas page (linked through Year 8 Luminary page) as well as the Study Skills website (accessed as per below) to assist students with their organisation and time management.
