Year 8

Welcome to Year 8! It’s been an exciting week and I’m pleased to say that Year 8 have settled in smoothly to their new classes, new timetables, and new routines. We started our week with Big Sister Little Sister in Luminary time. The Big Sisters worked closely with their Little Sisters to help them break down their timetable, chat about their new teachers and give them ideas and strategies for making new connections in their classes. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around to the groups and seeing all the students deeply engaged in the advice and support they were receiving.

It was also lovely to catch up with lots of families at the Parent Teacher Interviews this week, and put faces to the names and voices I have touched base with over the year. As mentioned previously, I will be continuing on as the Head of Year with this amazing cohort of students until the end of Year 9. I am very excited about this and look forward to continuing on this journey through the early years of high school with them.
