Year 7 Investigating forces

Before the Opera House concert, Year 7 were able to investigate whether the number of petals on a paper flower affected the time it took for the flower to open in water. Students coloured in the flowers, cut them out and floated them on the water, starting their stopwatches as the flower slid onto the water surface. Time was up when all of the petals touched the surface of the water. Students calculated the number of seconds it took for each flower to open and tabulated their data.
