Year 7

Year 7

As we approach the end of Term 1, it has been a timely moment for Year 7 to pause and reflect on experiences of Senior School so far. It is completely normal at this stage for students to feel tired, overwhelmed, or perhaps unsure about friendships as they settle into routines and expectations become clearer.

During this week’s Year Meeting, Angela Renwick Head of Students – Year 7 to Year 9, spoke to Year 7 about how small moments can sometimes feel bigger than they are, especially during this time of the term. Angela also reminded Year 7 that MLC School is not about getting everything perfect. Instead, it is about showing respect, compassion, growth and courage. When things start to feel a bit hard or tricky, it is okay to pause, choose the kindest response you can, and reach out for help early.

This week, Year 7 also planned and ran an Easter activity with their Big Sisters.  Many Luminaries played games on the Bird Bath Quad or planned an Easter egg hunt! As always, it was a great opportunity to strengthen the important vertical connections within the Senior School. Some photos from the morning are included below and in the Year 11 article which you can view here.

Finally, with just one week to go, Year 7 are reminded to ensure their lockers are clean and reset for Term 2. This includes removing excess paper, throwing out rubbish, and taking home books or resources no longer needed at school.
