Year 7

Year 7

Congratulations to all the amazing Year 7 students who sang and played at the Opera House concert on Monday night. Throughout the night I could see Year 7 students front row in the massed choir, singing beautifully in Senior Choir and playing wonderfully as part of an ensemble. The girls were truly incredible, it was a long day and Year 7 pushed through to be a part of something very special.

This week Year 7 had a Big Sister Little Sister session with Year 11 which was lots of fun! Activities were prepared by Year 11 and there were games, chats and connections shared. Year 7 will host their Year 11 Big Sisters later in the term and will be able to plan the session for them.

In our Year 7 Meeting, students were given a hard copy of the ‘What to Bring’ list for the upcoming camp. I encourage you to speak with your daughter about what was detailed in this meeting. Important things to note are that students require a soft duffel bag to carry the bulk of their items, and a small backpack as a daypack. Students should be wearing enclosed shoes throughout the camp (i.e. sturdy runners). Students asked about Crocs and Ugg boots and I have suggested they are too bulky to pack and not needed. Students are permitted to bring them, however, will only be permitted to wear them in the dorm rooms. Students will not be allowed to wear them to the dining hall, during any activity or when camping out. Finally, students are asked to abide by regular school rules for jewellery and hair. Angela Renwick (Adventure and Immersions Coordinator) and I have filmed a short video for families to answer some frequently asked questions about camp, and I hope you find a spare five minutes to watch by clicking on the thumbnail below.

Have a wonderful weekend and please contact your daughter’s Luminary or teachers if you have any questions.
