Year 7
I hope you had a lovely long weekend (such a distant memory!) and have enjoyed the four day week.
As we look forward to the last week of term, we have enjoyed another busy week this week with the cohort participating in so many exciting events and fundraisers. But firstly, a big congratulations to our Year 7 Cross Country runners, Ruth Costello (Year 7) placed 2nd at CIS Cross Country last Friday and Darcy Costello (Year 7) place 6th, which qualified them both for the CIS team heading to NSW Allschools next term. Another massive congratulations to Ruth, Darcy and Noelle Foo (Year 7) and Veronica Pan (Year 7) who placed 1st as a team at the CIS event, proving, yet again, that team work makes the dream work. Go MLC School!
If you attended Illuminate on Wednesday evening you would have witnessed some amazing installations from our students and also some truly stunning works of art from our Year 7 students. I am constantly in awe of our students and their neverending talents. Congratulations to all our girls who worked so hard in class and out of class to present a truly magical 2023 Illuminate.
Year 7 students were an outstanding force at the Senior School Athletics Championship Trials yesterday. The athletes were strong across the board in both the 12 and 13 age groups. We look froward to the exciting results at assembly on Monday.
The girls had an absolute blast at the Prescott House Puppy Pageant today. This is such an exciting event on our House calendar and an opportunity for our MLC School pooches to strut their stuff for charity. Thank you Prescott House for yet another wonderful event.
Next week is Round Square week and again, so much to do! Please note that there are fundraising events throughout the week, culminating in a Mufti Day on Friday. A reminder that Mufti outfits are to be appropriate attire – no midriff clothing, short shorts, or strappy shirts; besides, it’s just too cold at the moment for these items! The girls will receive the full calendar of events in their weekly update on Sunday evening.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
