Year 12

Year 12

Yesterday was the last Athletics Carnival for Year 12 2025. We had a fantastic day with lots of fun activities, beautiful sunshine and friends. Events included the 200m race, shotput, long jump and high jump and great novelty activities. It was so much fun, and the girls cheered each other on each time. Mooramoora House won the contest for perfect attendance. The House Captains did an amazing job working with their Heads of House and Andrew Simos, Heads of House Coordinator, on their themes, outfits and cheers. Being a House Captain is so much hard work behind the scenes, and we can’t thank them enough. Our image this week is but a small example of what the girls got up to.

Academic Care this week focused on final preparation for big events. Conor O’Reilly, Teacher, from the Music Faculty and Charlotte Almond, our new Head of Rowing spoke about pre-event nerves, strategies to work with anxiety and performance and motivation. Conor performed for us and got everyone in a great mood. The Year 12 writing exhibition was a wonderful evening that showcased the best of the English program with poetry and prose. A big thank you goes to the English department for their time and care of the girls.

Attendance continues to be a focal point of our academic program and encouraging Year 12 to make the most of their remaining time with teachers. Please reinforce this with your daughters as coursework continues and revision takes place. Nothing replaces the classroom experience and 1:1 engagement with peers and staff. Luminary and pastoral care time continues, as does assemblies, study periods, Chapel and House time.

If you are concerned about your daughter’s academic progress, please get in contact with their class teacher and for pastoral concerns, please reach out to me on 02 8741 9736 or sconnolly1@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au

Shout out to Year 12

On Monday 8 September, all Year 12 students will receive a special message from our Principal, Lisa Moloney, inviting you to complete the Student Reflection and Exit Survey. This is your chance to share reflections and thoughts on your learning experience, journey, and favourite memories from your time at MLC School. The questionnaire also asks for your permission to include ATARs in our communications or socials.

We truly value your voice, and your feedback will help those students who follow in your footsteps. Thank you for being part of our community – we can’t wait to follow your journey after MLC School.

All Year 12 Parents will also have the opportunity to submit their feedback via an Exit Survey from MLC School. Further information will be sent to you next week.

Kind regards and take care.
