Year 11

Year 11

This week has been another eventful one for our Year 11 students at MLC School.

We commenced the week with an informative presentation by Deputy Principal Melissa Boyd and Director of Experiential Learning Sarah Jauncey regarding the annual MLC School Sony Camp. Year 11 students will have the opportunity to lead this camp in 2025, taking on various roles such as camper companion, camper relief companion, camp organization staff, media team, and scrapbook team. This is a valuable experience that students will undoubtedly cherish. Additionally, Year 11 will be organising the bake sale at the MLC School annual colour run, scheduled for later this year. There are numerous ways for students to contribute to the success of the Sony Camp.

This week also featured our Anzac service. The cadets performed admirably, and special congratulations are extended to the Catafalque party, comprised entirely of Year 11 students: Olivia Ebel, Rebecca Beaton, Evelyn Kerr, Elena Tulloch, Eliza Kershaw Macdonald, Georgia O’Connor, Yuuki Onuma, and Sophie Winnall. Congratulations are also due to Inez Murray (Year 11) for being selected to perform the hymn ‘Abide With Me’.

During Luminary time, students were encouraged to reflect on their goals for the term. This included not only academic objectives but also social and personal aspirations. Discussions focused on strategies for achieving these goals and the necessary steps to be taken.
