Year 11

We had a special week full of Year 12 farewells and a farewell for Frances Booth, Deputy Principal and Head of Senior School.​

On Wednesday, Year 12 had their Final Assembly and our 2023 House Captains received their badges from the 2022 House Captains as well as presenting the outgoing House Captains with flowers. At the Year 12 Valedictory Service on Thursday, the 2023 School Captains received their badges. After the service the Year 12 students walked through a whole school guard of honour.

At our Year group meeting on Thursday we talked about the best way to treat our non-teaching staff in dealings with them when they disagree with the rules, with particular attention on the Nurses and café staff. We hope that in a year’s time when the cohort leaves MLC School that they have learnt to treat everyone with respect and compassion.

We also discussed the Year 12 Leadership Retreat. Thank you to those that have already completed the online medical forms and provided consent for the retreat.

 

Uniform Reminders

The Summer uniform will begin on the first day of Term 4, Tuesday 11 October 2022. The minor changes for Senior students are

  • Short navy socks
  • No School pants as they are part of the Winter uniform only

Next term there will be a sharper focus across the School on uniform. Could we ask for your support with the following items in particular:

  • Hair is tidy, pulled back with navy or tri-coloured school colours only and of a natural colour. Claw clips are not allowed.
  • Nail lacquer is not allowed.
  • Excessive make-up which also includes eye-lash extensions is not allowed.
  • The only piercings allowed are one plain silver or gold stud in the lobe of each ear.

Students have been warned that sentimental or expensive jewellery could be confiscated and as should not be brought to school.

These holidays will be the last opportunity to have a good rest before taking on Year 12. Some students will be catching up and reviewing work as well, but the students do deserve some relaxation.
