Year 10

Year 10

This has been a week of community at school, and a real treat to celebrate our graduating Class of 2022 together as a school. I have encouraged our Year group to look at the example that has been set for them, and to feel inspired by the tremendous group of students that have led the School with real care and dignity. We will miss them and wish them all the best for the coming months and the years ahead.

There has been a palpable sense of relief for Year 10, who have now completed their assessments and wound up their academics before moving into Year 11 courses next term. The first four weeks of term will be spent mainly on immersion, with some regular classes still taking place. Students will be working on skills that will support them for their Senior Years studies and should treat these lessons as a valuable opportunity to learn.

As mentioned last week, Term 4 will see an increased focus on the standard of student uniform. The uniform sets the tone for how students conduct themselves and approach their learning and their day. Jewellery will be an area of focus and students can expect any excess jewellery to be confiscated on the spot to be returned at the end of the week. The students should not return to School wearing false eyelashes or nails and should be aware that hair should be tied back with a hair tie or ribbon in school colours only. No claw clips. Year 10 are more than aware of the requirements and so there really are no excuses. A reminder that pants are part of the winter uniform and are therefore not to be worn in Term 4 and Term 1.

We were low on numbers for our final Year meeting of the term, but I did let the cohort know how proud I am of what they have achieved this year to date and how much I enjoy working with them. I often say that Heads of Year have the best job in the school, it is working with your daughters that makes it so.

I hope all our Year 10 superstars have a good rest over the break and return ready for the challenge of Year 11. I look forward to seeing everyone return for Term 4 on Tuesday 11 October 2022.
