Tournament of Minds 2025: A Weekend of Wit, Wonder, and Whimsy!

Last weekend, a number of excited and dedicated students were buzzing with creativity and collaboration as they took on the 2025 Tournament of Minds (ToM) challenge!

The Long Term Challenge saw students dive into four dynamic disciplines – Language and Literature, The Arts, STEM, and Social Sciences – crafting imaginative solutions and bringing them to life through thoughtful scripts and clever dramatisations.

But the excitement didn’t stop there…

In the Spontaneous Challenge, teams had just five minutes to brainstorm and present a unique solution to a surprise question. The energy and nerves were evident as students attempted to showcase quick thinking, teamwork, and out-of-the-box ideas.

Despite the transport challenges of making their way to Randwick on the weekend of the Sydney Marathon, the girls amazed us with their innovation, creativity, and collaborative spirit. Their dedication to the tournament shone through and reflected hours of hard work and organisation.

A huge congratulations to all our ToM participants – your passion and teamwork were truly inspiring.

A special thank you to James Adams – HIgh Potential Learning Leader, Wayne Symes, Kos Pather and Lucy Pero – Teachers, for giving up their Sunday to be judges for the Tournament of Minds East Division. Without your help our teams would not have been able to compete.

We had lots of positive feedback and look forward to competing in ToM in 2026.
