Pre-K in charge of the Junior School for a day

On Thursday 15 June 2023, with Kindergarten to Year 5 students attending their Athletics Carnival, Daniel Sandral, Head of Junior School, left the Pre-K girls in charge of Junior School. ‘That’s a big responsibility’ said Audrey and all the students thought about what it would entail.

Since we had the Junior School to ourselves, during the morning meeting the girls thought of what they would like to do on this special day. On top of their list was ‘to visit the big girls’ classroom/studios’. There was a rare silence within the Junior School as the Pre-K students walked into every Year studio admiring the work the ‘big girls’ have done in each class. What the girls noticed as they moved through the Year groups was that the furniture started getting bigger. They sat on Year 4 chairs and felt like Goldilocks ‘this chair is too big!’. The finale was reaching our Year 5M buddies’ studio and looking at their work. The fun continued with a visit to the Senior School to view Illuminate artworks and having our own running race on our lawn. Overseeing the Junior School was a lot of fun.
