Omnia – New Parent Portal is Live
The new parent portal, Omnia, launched on Tuesday and we have received many positive comments.
There are now generally two main channels for you to find information, learn of news, RSVP for events, see your daughter’s activities and confirm her excursions: Omnia and the MLC School app.
Please make sure you have the MLC School app (details are at the end of this email).
It is important to check Omnia regularly.
When you’re having a coffee – check Omnia. If you regularly check your socials – also check Omnia.
It can be accessed in a number of ways:
- by: https://omnia.mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au
- via the link in the MLC School app (under the links tile)
- via a link at the top of the MLC School webpage
Your login is the same as for all MLC School systems. Need help with that? Please contact our IT team:service@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au.

📱 💻 Get into the habit of checking Omnia every day or so.
What does that Omnia mean for you?
Essentially, Omnia and the MLC School app will work hand in hand to minimise the number of channels that parents need to access to find out important information about their daughter/s and happenings at the School.
Several emails will cease and you will find that information in Omnia and through app notices. The Tuesday event email has already switched over and so too will many other announcements and event invitations. Some emails will stay in place for a limited period, as we understand there will be a transition phase while people get used to the new processes.
✅ To do: you are urged to get into the habit of checking Omnia every day or so.
Here’s some further explanation of the platform:
Coming Up
Parents will be able to view each of their children – their upcoming activities and any confirmed excursions.
Co-curricular information includes sport and music for this purpose. Club swimming and club gymnastics are not included here however.
If something is missing or incorrect – please contact us: communications@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au
Excursions
Approval requests for an excursion, immersion, camp etc display in this list – there is a button for a parent to approve (in gold) – you can also decline here. When it has been approved, the button will be blue and say ‘approved’, if it has been declined, the button goes grey and says ‘declined’. The change may not be visible until you refresh the page. Parents can see the details on this list until the excursion date has passed.
News
Parents can read specific notices and reply directly via email to the staff member who sent the notice if needed.
Any notices sent through the MLC School app will also appear here – parents can subscribe to tags so that only app notices relevant to their daughter appear.
✅ To do: go to your My Profile page and subscribe to various tags so you can filter news items so that they are relevant. You can always change these at anytime.
Events
School events will appear here – some will have RSVP required, others won’t. Once there is an RSVP, there will be a confirmation email and an ical integration sent, so parents can add this to their own calendars. The change from RSVP to ‘Attending’ may not be visible until you refresh the page.
Side Menu
My Students
This page drills down more into each student’s information – a parent can switch from one child to the next on the top tab.
In this area you can see general information about your student, her reports, what co-curricular activities she is enrolled in, and information on approved excursions. For Senior School students the Luminary is listed and their email is linked here.
Importantly, you can view and edit the medical information we hold for the student.
✅ To do: take a look at this medical information and ensure it is correct and always up to date. Click View/Edit to see the information.
You can also lodge an absentee form from here.
Timetable
Generally, shows all Senior School student timetables/activities, but at the moment there is a limited view for Junior School students. Junior School timetables can be found in the School Information section on the side menu.
School Contacts
This section shows your daughter’s subjects and teachers (with an email link to contact them) for all students in the Senior School. For Junior School, it will display the main class teacher. There are also contact details for other significant staff members.
School Calendar
This is populated with a range of upcoming activities and has some colour coding. It is the same calendar as appears in the MLC School app.
My Profile
This section shows the information we hold about each parent – you. It is where you can subscribe to new tags that are relevant for your daughter. Remember to update these tags as your daughter changes activities or moves to a new Year group.
It is also where you edit your OWN contact information. Editing your own details does NOT edit the other parent’s information at all. Each record is distinct, and each parent needs to request a change of details.
✅ To do: check your address details – click Edit to make any changes.
School Information
This is a general information section where parents can find:
- the Parent Handbook
- forms you might need – including Illness and Misadventure related to exams/assessments. Click here to download step by step instructions.
- general information on Flexischools, canteen, etc.
- Junior School timetables by class
- there is a page for every year level with contact info and, where relevant, assessment schedules
- numerous pages on co-curricular activities
Audacia
All weekly School newsletters can be accessed here. These will be sent via the app to alert you a new issue is available.
