Japanese HSC Skill Development Workshops at MLC School
On July 18 2025, MLC School hosted the Japanese Teachers’ Association of NSW (JTAN) HSC Skill Development Workshops. The day allowed students to come together to enhance their Japanese language skills in preparation for the HSC examinations. JTAN also organised Japanese speaking days to practice for the Japanese HSC Oral examination during Term 2 with the Japanese HSC Beginners Speaking day also being hosted at MLC School.
Students participated in a series of targeted Japanese language workshops tailored for the Beginners, Continuers, and Extension Japanese courses. Each session was led by experienced teachers, who generously shared their expertise and insider tips on how to approach each component of the HSC written exam. The workshops covered essential skills such as listening, reading comprehension, writing, and responding in Japanese, helping students build both confidence and competence.
Students not only gained valuable exam skills, but also built connections with peers from other schools, exchanged study strategies, and learned from experienced teachers. The collaborative atmosphere encouraged active participation and allowed everyone to benefit from a shared passion for the Japanese language and culture.
As the students move forward toward their HSC and future endeavours, we wish them every success and hope that the skills and connections gained during this event will serve them well in their language learning journeys.
